http://www.pitbull-chat.com/attachme...546445&thumb=1This was taken this morning. She is a true pillow hog! right in the middle of everything, right before that she was stretched out like a 3 state map...it doesnt do any good to make the bed and fluff the pillows, coz while i am in the shower she makes herself comfy LOL

Another thing I cant stand is coming to work to see someone full of dog hair. That really bothers me and I think it is poor personal hygiene.

Kotyara 09-13-2012 06:32 PM

Nope. I have a no dogs in the bed policy. Why: First of all I like to get a good nights sleep, which is impossible with a dog that is a total bed hog. She has a nice dog bed she sleeps on in our room and its a win win situation. We get a good nights sleep and so does she. Second of all, I don't like sleeping in dog hair and she is a major shedder. I don't care if she is on the couches and stuff, but I don't want her on the beds. I think it will stay this way too with any dogs we have.

Tnzxovoz 09-21-2012 10:16 AM

Our dogs don't, but our cats do. I would sleep with them all if I could find a bed big enough to comfortably accomadate a 6' 4" 200 pound boyfriend 70 pound shepherd mix, a 90 pound coon hound, a 110 pound rottie and now a 50 lb. pit bull lab/shar pei/something mix. Maybe we need to move the mattress to the floor? Or better yet, maybe I should just build a big box and have all the dogs sleep outside?

EntectCelpelm 09-21-2012 10:25 AM

LOL! Joe. We all know you let them sleep with you because you are lonely at night :P J/p

I do. When Hubby works Graves I have both in the bed with me. When Hubby is home at night (off Days) I only have 1 in the bed. And the reason why is a snuggle buddy and security. I hate being home alone so the dogs offer comfort.

RonPeeredob 09-21-2012 10:50 AM

/\/\/\ Awe, you named him Boxie!?! Where have I been...

A: only when the hubby is out of town or sleeping in the other room.

casinobonusnolimit 09-21-2012 10:55 AM

My dog sleeps with me and is a very courtiouse sleep buddy with me and my hubby. He just kind of makes himself fit where there is space. Her barely sheds so there is no hair problem and I go through tons of baby wipes keeping him clean. I just like his company and so does my husband.

dabibibff 09-21-2012 11:09 AM

Veronica sleeps with us every night...if we have to go away overnight and leave her with my mom neither of us sleep well.

GuitarLoverBe 09-21-2012 11:34 AM

Rita isn't allow onto my bed as I don't want dog hair all over my sheets like some people have already said but she does sleep in my room with me

Podosinovik 09-21-2012 11:43 AM

Joker sleeps in our bed. He is our only dog that ever has. He loves being at my side, constantly, and I never thought it to be a problem. I enjoy his warmth, company and security. My husband worked nights when we got him. He works days now, Joker stayed.

I let mine sleep in the bed when the SO works out of town.

Just a little humor that I left out earlier ......

My hubby worked night shift for 15 years, until about 8 months ago. For those that do not know, Joker and I connected at the lowest of lows in my life, after my brother died (we were born one yr. apart, so my bereavement counselor said it is like loosing a twin).

9 months after he passed, I tore my ACL, and Joker was my "bedrest" companion, never leaving my side.

So .... 2 weeks ago my hubby decided that Joker was not allowed in our bed, or on our brand new couch.
Me being my patient self, and also amused by this idea, didn't argue. I simply said, "Brian, for real??? Nothing will keep him from being next to me".
He bought that "wonderful" dog-off spray, he also, was on Joker like a dead fly on a fly swatter.

I knew it wouldn't work! LOL! Joker, would lay on my lap, or on my stomache (in bed), with his eyes on me, like he is saying ... "MOM, he is the one who left U in the shower, when you had all that pain and had that weird thingy covering your leg!! Remember, I had to go find him and yell at HIM, or you would've shriveled up like prune."
"Oh, and, those nights, you couldn' t sleep ... and cried, cried, cried .... I didn't know what to do, other than lay my head on your shoulder?"
"He needs to go back to night shift mom, I love him too, but Damn he takes up a lot of space in our bed".

Joker not being on our bed or couch, never happened http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/smile.png

Me too--It is definetly comforting and Trina is a snuggle bug...I wont need a heater when (if) it ever gets cold!

This question is very popular lately.

No, I would never tolerate a dog sleeping in my bed. The hair, dirt, moving around, drooling, etc, stays out of my clean bed. Her bed is right beside my bed however, always.

AndyScouchek 09-21-2012 01:06 PM

Yep, he keeps me company since my hubby is in the army http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/smile.png

Affiltavajefe 09-21-2012 02:42 PM

Nope. Boxie is too big and Jet often wakes up with nightmares. Just safer for everyone if he gets to sleep on the couch (and Boxie sleeps in his crate).

Roxie does if she feels like it. She's a very laid back bed-sleeper, none of the b.s. a lot of dogs do. She will, however, get off and sleep in her doggy bed if she wants to (ie, if I'm moving around too much). Usually she's cuddling next to me in colder weather, but at the foot or in her bed during warmer weather. She doesn't shed (or atleast not enough to make an impact) and she's very, very clean... I probably get dirtier than she does. So it doesn't bother me one bit. If she were stinky and messy and left a ton of fur... Then she probably wouldn't even sleep in my room, I have horrible allergies. Luckily she's not like that, haha!! I would miss my heater!I've always had a dog in the bed. But I've also been lucky with having clean dogs who aren't punchy or squirmy. My last dog, Buddy, she would always lay on my chest and weigh me down, which I did kick her off for until she grew out of that. Roxie has perfect manners though.
