I agree with LL. Training dogs off leash takes a long time and a lot of recall. Please leash your puppy.
To answer your original question.. allll of mine follow me EVERYWHERE in the house. Every step I take I have road blocks right in front of me. If I go in the RR and come out.. SHE JUST GOT HOME!!!!!! If I go out front and come back two minutes later.. SHE JUST GOT HOME!!!!!! ![]() |

LeTigra my brothers dog does the same thing, be without blocking your way. She is pretty good with knowing your path. lol. But with my pup he follows me everywhere outside as well but there has been some instances where a person on a bicycle passes by and he darts off. Granted he never steps foot onto the sidewalk or chases them, that prey drive instinct is very strong.

My dogs think I need an escort to go to the bathroom, go into the laundry room to wash a load of clothes, and when I go into the backyard. I usually have a 4 dog audience when I'm making the bed, for Pete's sake! I kinda wonder sometimes if they really love me or if they think I am so incompetent that I can't manage to throw out some trash without them supervising me!

Haha! Yes my dogs follow me EVERYWHERE! When I take a bath, I have one laying behind my head on the back of the tub, while the other is drinking water from the tub. On July 4th Sadie was afraid of the fireworks and decided to sit on my lap while I was bathing! I guess I am use to it, I had kids follow me and now dogs. I never get to do anything alone. My Gus even followed me into the shower once. He won't do that again. When I do laundry, I have several heads in the washer with tails wagging.

Yes. You even have to double check to make sure she is not around before you put the footrest down on the recliner because she will lay under there to be near us. She knows how to open doors and the gate and will follow you to the bathroom even. She is constantly underfoot.
But you know what I wouldn't have it any other way. It's nice that she wants to be around us. Our other dog, he was kind of anti social and would stay behind the couch or in another room. Only came around when he wanted/needed something....basically when it benifited him. Kind of like a cat. |

I always say that Bullet stalks me. He was really clingy when I first got him. Wouldn't let me out of his sight for a minute. Now he only follows me around about half of the time. But if I'm in one room for too long he comes looking for me. And I don't bother shutting the bathroom door anymore. He usually just pokes his head in and then hangs out in the hall until I come out. And he sleeps on the rug a lot when I'm in the shower. |
