MJJ- Our entire property is cement and also a rental so we cant do a chain spot Im just going to have to take her out on her leash from now on until I can decide whether she's brave enough to try it again. I figure it will be one of two outcomes... 1) The landing hurt enough that she learned her lesson and won't get close to the edge anymore or 2) She's still alive so she figures she can do it again no problem. lol. Ill watch how she acts up there for the next few weeks and if she is afraid of the edge then maybe I can let her go without her leash again.

Mollie's Nana- It was because my husband's friend was down below. She likes him so when she saw him I guess she wanted to say hello lol.. apparently walking down the stairs to greet him was not an option.. apparently she had to try to suicide bomb him *face palm*

....I was gonna ask if something coaxed her to jump and now I get why she jumped.

I've seen dogs take incredible risks to get somewhere or to someone, like cross busy highways or jump out of trucks . They have no clue the danger that lies ahead they just see the object of their affection...

I'm glad she is okay.

Dogs do some stupid shit and live to tell the tail. (mind the pun) I'm glad she's okay.

Maybe put her on a long lead when you're on the roof with her? Does Mexico have agility competitions? Or do you have a yard? I bet she'd be great at that.
This is some really stupid advice. Her dog jumped off a roof so you tell her to put it on a long lead? Think about how dumb that is.

A long lead implies the owner is with the dog. Therefore if the dog starts to walk toward the edge of the roof, she pulls the dog back. Where exactly is this dumb advice??

If you think its so bad, why don't you explain why you think that. Maybe you're seeing something I'm not. I'm open to learning if you can do it in a way that's not so rude.

I'm probably coming off a little harsh, but it's common sense. Dog on lead jumps off roof. What happens to the dog? You might as well tie the dog to a noose.

But if you watch the dog while it's on the lead and pull the dog back BEFORE it gets to the edge, then the dog won't have the chance to jump off, thus not hanging itself.

HOW is it naive?? How is the dog going to jump if you're attached to the dog and not allowing it to jump off the roof?

Shes not saying to put the dog on a lead and just leave it, why is it a problem if she is being supervised?

Lol Vader.. I wouldnt let her jump off and hang herself obviously. The point of the lead would be so that I could pull her back before she even got close to the edge.

Here we are today. On a leash with her harness!

Hope the vid works. Its photobucket so click the photo and it should play... I think. Lol.

the dog could charge before she gets the chance to reel the leash in

Obviously I would keep the lead at a distance where even if she charged it wouldnt be long enough for her to jump off ..
