Who's to say what you should and shouldn't do with your money right? Whether you donate to shelters, Haiti, cancer patients, the Michael Jackson fund.....As long as giving it makes you happy and you can do it for selfish reasons, then the money was well-given.

I just did a donation to a local org/shelter. No thanks came back, but then again, none needed.

I agree with that. While I personally wouldn't donate to Villalobes. If someone else wants to, it's their money.

If someone wants to donate to something like PETA/HSUS, I'll make sure you are well informed, and if you still want your money to go there, well, again, it's your money.

Was the show cancelled? I don't see it on tv anymore.

Gozmand 03-03-2010 01:51 AM

i hope it was

ViagraPriceBuying 04-02-2010 05:28 PM

I'm fairly sure it was and replaced by Pit Boss. Hopefully they both never get aired again. Too much publicity for the APBT.

I think if you are going to donate to charity it should be a cause that is close to your heart. So if dogs are close to a person's heart then I don't see anything wrong with donating to an animal charity over a human charity.

In regards to the show, I do enjoy watching it because the woman who runs it seems to genuinely care for those dogs, and I like that they are not a bunch of bleeding hearts who think all dogs can get along with enough training or love. They seem to be very thorough as well before placing any dog in a home.

i don't know, but i hope they DON'T come out with another season. because we DON'T need anymore "reality TV" shows about "pitbulls"

Evelinessa 05-03-2010 01:27 AM

True dat, too many pit bulls on TV

andrekuper 05-03-2010 05:31 AM

I'd like to see another season. Because:

1. They do point out that pitbulls tend to fight with other dogs, not because they were "trained" to do it, but because they were "Bred" for it. This is something that the general public does not understand. They believe it is all in "how the dog was raised."

2. They also make the clear distinction between a dog being "DA" and a dog being "HA" which is a good thing. Because this is a common misconception with the general public, they believe that if a dog attacks another dog, they will also attack a human and a child, which just fuels BSL.

It comes on in reruns on Animals Planet...I do not know if it will be on for another season though or not.
I typical don't like shows that showcase the APBT breed but I am looking forward to the show Dogs 101 having the APBT on that show. I want to see what is said about the breed because they are usually spot on.

Bvghbopz 05-25-2010 10:22 AM

love that showhttp://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/smile.png
good for you for donating!

Vokbeelllicky 05-25-2010 03:06 PM

Screw the show and the guys who take days of footage and edit it into an hour of aired footage (minus commercial breaks) in order to get ratings.

I spent some time on the web site and got an impression from that. Yes, these people are a bit crude in their speech, but they are honest about who they are.

They turn down a lot of people who want to adopt for various reasons, which I think is a good thing. Pit Bulls aren't for everyone.

They also don't adopt out of state to anyone who has an existing pet in the home just in case their are issues and they will make exceptions for this rule if the adopter in question is willing to come out there with their pets to do a meet and greet among the dog and existing pets. Seems responsible and fair to me.

They take care of about 200 dogs every day until those dogs find homes and that is a noble thing.

That said, I haven't and probably won't donate to them simply because there are so many breed rescues here that need the time, money, supplies or whatever else I would donate.

just to lighten it up a bit, id donate for a date with the daughter

From watching the show, I have come away with the impression that Tia loves pitbulls and works very diligently to help them. She does present a very balanced view of the breed and works hard to make good adoptive matches. As of yet, I have not made a donation, but think it is a very worthy cause!

I really like the show, and think as long as you donate with your heart in the right place, you shouldn't have to explain yourself.
