Default Dog farts!
Just wondering if I need to buy stock in Lysol? Week 3 of having the dogs on Blue Wilderness Duck and about every 10 minutes my pit Deuce farts. I also have an Australian Cattle dog that is eating the same with no gas. Like I said, just wondering......

The kids and I think it's funny but the wife thinks it's disgusting!

BB Wilderness has actually been known to cause gas in some dogs. If it's really an issue with one of your dogs (or smelly stool) you might want to consider another food because it's not normal.

You could try changing to another quality food. You could also add some no sugar, no flavor added, plain yogurt to the Pit's food. A couple tablespoons helps reduce gas and reduce the smell.

While yogurt is good, I'd rather add a pro-/Pre-biotic powder because it's got more concentrated good bacteria where with yogurt, the dog would have to eat a lot more of it.

Not sure if you should be changing kibble AGAIN, since it has only been 3 weeks. Have you slowly transitioned into the new diet?

You might try adding a probiotic and digestive enzymes.

Well, it does depend. Short snouted dogs usually intake more air when eating and drinking, so gas is pretty normal. But you learn your dog and know when there is the normal gas and the holy-hell-sewer-butt-shoot-me-now gas.

With dogs that have regular sized snouts you usually don't have a lot of gas unless there is some kind of tummy upset like the dog got into something, had new food, new treats, is on food that just doesn't agree with them etc.

mine is the same way, she will clear a room with her farts sometimes. some days are worse than others. we have tried yogurt and it seems to work, sometimes. also make sure not to give table scraps. we make sure cheyenne doesnt get anything from the table. she does get carrots and apples as treats.

IAMS, like other grocery store brands, has a lot of fillers that can be hard for some dogs to digest which can cause issues like gas.
