I believe this particular breeder came here and was part of a discussion regarding his/her breeding practices, and could neither verify claims of health testing or 'zero aggression'. It basically blew up and he threatened to sue or something, the thread was deleted and we were all told to not talk about it anymore. But we're talking about it... so maybe I got the breeder wrong or maybe we're ok to talk about it now. |

I just talked to my wife. She told me a few of his clients on Facebook that she contacted seemed to be happy with their dogs. She said all had other dogs that got along well, no dog aggression, etc. Although a couple of the people said that their dogs were couch potatoes and very low key after age 2? That does not sound like a typical APBT or Amstaff. They also said they don't have much drive like there other Pits.
It maybe possible that his dogs are not as game as a typical APBT,but lets face it most Pit Mixes are less game as well and you can find them at any shelter. Breeding an APBT not to act like an APBT, with little drive, energy seems pointless. |

That brings us back to one of the reasons you don't want to alter traits of dogs. You may think you're making the same dog without the dog aggression but you're significantly changing the genetic make-up of the dog. You'll end up altering/losing more than just the dog aggression. The traits go hand-in-hand. I'm sure the breeders get driven dogs every once in a while but I'm willing to bet that their dogs are just watered down AmBullies. They're no longer APBTs when you try to change what made this dog what it is today.

Prey drive and Dog aggression are both notable traits that are part of the APBT make up but don't expect to be buying anything game unless the dogs are coming off game tested parents. Which from that site it's pretty obvious those dogs are bred for show and tell. As game, a little game, not as game, there is no line in between the dogs are either game or they are not and if you want to know if an APBT is game you have to break the law to find out. Don't confuse prey drive, or dog aggression, or toy drive with being game.

Read more: http://www.pitbull-chat.com/showthre...#ixzz22zr1dPM7 Then don't get one simple. There's a 50/50 chance you'll get one that is like a APBT or you'll get whatever the mix is. |

Everything else that has been said put to the side... want a sure sign you are looking at a puppy peddler who is in it for $$$$? I have that sign for you... that sign is when the kennel puts trademarks on their dog names and trademarks every random term they can invent on their website, including their supposed style of breeding and "bloodline" name.

If you want a true APBT then you'll have to accept that it might become DA in the future. Some dogs don't ever turn on.
However I wouldn't buy from this place. I don't know if this is acceptable to you, but I don't like buying from a place that breeds 8 pairings at one time. Some of the "better" breeders in my opinion only has maybe one or two litters a year w/ a reservation list as long as the mississippi. |

I have seen DA Poodles, Boxers, GSD's, Labs, Spaniels, and even a very DA Beagle. No breeder can guarantee a dog will not be DA. |

Just to clarify: you can be happy with a dog you got... but that doesn't mean that it's worth $1250 by any means or that it is special in any way claimed on that website. If you have 1250 sitting around in a piggy bank somewhere and you believe the hype.. go for it. But if you want what they are promising (super canine, champion out of the box, perfect structure with a diamond hanging off of its genital), you are on the wrong website.
