Default Cat Toys
Sometimes it feels like I spent a fortune on cat toys... only for their favourite toy to be empty card board boxes, plastic bags, and a stick from outside that has somehow managed to last 6 months without my dog chewing it.

ANY empty box in the house I can guarantee to find a cat in it. They also like pens, keys, torches (laser pointers!!), toes, and so on and so forth...

Expensive fancy toys? Naaaah.

How about yours?

Ours have loads of toys but like you Christy we've found they prefer things like cardboard boxes, bags, rolled up tin foil, christmas decorations and other random stuff. Drakes favourite is wool, my daughter does needle felting and has loads of wool about and he always pinches it. I came home one day and there was wool everywhere, raw sheep wool, looked like he'd been out and caught a sheep! It had been a batch of wool waiting to be washed and dyed and he'd dragged it out from under the bed, ripped open the bag and had a great time with it. I bagged it all back up and put it on top of the wardrobe, next day it was everywhere again! Now it is shut IN the wardrobe.

Like Rubu has said Drake loves wool!! He also likes anything purple and anything shiny, if it's purple and shiny then it's a definate winner, he especially likes trying to run off with your keys, headphones or phone, and shoes sometimes as well.

Yeah mine prefer cardboard boxes, bags, shoes, anything that isn't a toy. The only toys they'll play with are some little mice that a friend bought back from Majorca which are made with rabbit fur. I don't know how much money I wasted on proper toys before I finally accepted that the more money it costs, the less they are interested. Kind of good though I guess, it's the one aspect of having a cat that doesn't cost you tons of money!!!

Mine is the same. She doesn't care for toys at all. She likes to jump in boxes, and to swat pens off my desk. The one toy she did like a mouse that had a noisemaker inside it, so when she batted it, it would squeak. But she even got tired of that, especially since she's caught real critters.

My cats are the same...they looove boxes. Never play with toys we get them but play with bits of string, shoe laces and pens...even balled up bits of paper. The weirdest thing my cat has ever played with was a sprout that had been dropped when peeling for the Xmas dinner. I wondered what had happened to it and it had somehow ended up in my shoe haha. They have had toys but we have found its a waste of money after all lol.

I don't bother with expensive cat toys at all because mine are the same way. Why spend any money on toys when they'd much prefer a box, random strings, or heck, even just shadows or laser pointers? Lol!

I prefer to spend the money on getting them cat treats instead. Occasionally I will buy a toy that I think they'd really love for Christmas, because yes, we do pet gifts for that holiday, but in general, I know their interest in it will be short-lived. :P

I swear that I waste money on my boys...who are 6 and 2 because they just sniff the toys and yawn....even the catnip ones. But I pile all the toys into this cat house I have and find them all over the house! So I guess when I am not looking....

My cat love the laundry basket. Lol
He loves to play the curtains so if its plastic, it will be torn apart. He also enjoy playing the doormat and he would bite the box (maybe he wants to open it? LOL). He got easily bored with a ball and prefer moving strings/threads.

I have a toy mice graveyard in my living room right now. I was looking for some of his toys because he seemed bored. Lol! Under the couch there they were, about twenty of them. He loves them. He loves plastic grocery bags too. I don't let him have the bags any longer. A few weeks ago he was playing in a big pile of them after I went grocery shopping and than he started running around like a maniac and one of them with the handle was around his neck. It wasn't tight, but still. he loves any kind of box. My other cat the older lady cat loved to climb up the walkway doors in the house. Sometimes I forget that she is old for a cat. Both of them love the laser pointer.

Once My cat stole a ladies wrapped up new feminine product right out of the bag! He ran around with it in his mouth and it was the most hilarious thing ever! I could go on and on about my two little furry beasties.
