Default Do any of your cats shed hair excessively?
Tabitha (in my avatar) is an older Manx. She sheds hair like crazy all the time. She has done this since we got her four years ago. We used to brush her a few times a week, but she would still shed hair.

When we have time to brush her every day, it obviously helps more. When we don't, cat hair gets all over the house. We are constantly dusting and vacuuming.

I think that's just a cat thing. Ours shed like crazy, especially the long haired one..... but the other does, too. Cat hair is everywhere and vacuuming is really the best you can do to clean it up. Brushing helps, but it obviously doesn't eliminate it.

Ugh, we definitely have this issue! I dread sweeping the kitchen floor because of the long cat hairs. You sweep up the hairs, and they get stuck to the broom bristles, so you have to pick them off with your hands. It's just not a fun task! For some reason it accumulates on our stairs as well, and I'm not a fan of vacuuming the stairs! We have 2 dogs, both short hair, and 3 cats, a long hair and 2 short hairs. Every creature in the house sheds like crazy! Ah, the things we do for our furry friends!

I used to have a cat that she'd like there was no tomorrow. I bought a special brush that took away the excess and really helped cut down on the mess in my house. I can't remember the name of it, but was bought at Pet Smart and was called something like the furrminator. They make them in different sizes for both cats and dogs.
