It's one thing never to have experienced a redirect and to believe your dog won't do it. It's another thing to KNOW your dog redirects and to STILL give them access to other dogs in those situations....

Default She broke my heart
This morning I was leaving for school and Cheyenne starts crying at the window. It broke my heart. I didn't want to leave her, I just wanted to stay home and cuddle in bed with her. Made me sad cause I won't see her until later tonight.

Any one else deal with this in the morning?

Yeah, I'd get to the root of that issue. Sophie just watches us leave but it's that "puppy in the window" look that breaks our heart lol She's in the window 90% of the time when we aren't home so if you drive by it's always "sad" lol

That is really kind of ya'll to worry about my dogs. I appreciate the gesture. Our dogs are confined in their kennels when we both are not at home. If I leave than my husband keeps Deuce and Suzie with him while Harley is flipping out (and the other way around if my husband leaves)...not that they would get near her anyway. We tried to get her seperation anxiety under control but unfortunatly my husband could careless about her freaking out. So just me trying to work with her got her no where fast and left me frustrated. So the only other thing we could do is get her meds but I don't care to drug her. Again...thanks for you concern! :-)

Yea you gotta put a stop to that. It looks cute now but it wont be when she gets big enough to destroy door frames and rip up floor tiles.

Im so glad my dogs dont cry like babies when we leave.

I deal with one of ours flipping out when I leave in the morning. It was cute when she was just whinning at the window and if I knew then what I know now I would have nipped that shit in the bud asap! Now she is a maniac! We have huge dents and chew marks on our door knobs. She hollars...yes hollars at the door. The other 2 dogs know to stay away from her if me or husband leave because she will redirect. I hope Cheyenne keeps her cute little cry at the window and doesn't end up being a total maniac like our Harley is lol!

I hope not either! My boyfriend is home when I leave for school so it's not a big deal and she goes back to sleep on the couch or bed after I leave, but today just broke my heart seeing her at the window. If we both are gone for a long period of time then she goes in her kennel, don't trust her yet to stay out by herself for a period of time. She's a good puppy but I don't want to come home to holes in the wall or carpet torn up!

Only Capone gets distraught when we leave him, he's extremely attached to me and has done this (at the same intensity) from day one when we found him not long ago. Luckily it's getting better, and we don't feed this SA habits. I have a foster dog that would chew out of plastic kennels (HAD to be in a wire one), ate floor boards, tore up carpet, ate two doors and a couch. It's not pretty, damn dog wasn't even a bully breed. She was a Basenji mix.
