Well, it's been 6 months since I started this thread and she hasn't grown much since. Maybe a pound or two. She's about 8 months old now. We still love her of course! But we are a little disappointed that she wont be a big pup.

Heck I'd be thrilled, it's so hard to find pit bulls that are on the smaller side these days, my girls are 45 and 60 pounds and it would be awesome if they were smaller, your pup is adorable.

Mine stopped growing at about 6 months..the only thing she gained after that was muscle. She's only 17 in from toes to neck on a tall day and 45 pounds. Momma and daddy were both over 100. But shes perfect "pocket size" and just as gorgeous as the rest

Shoulda got a different breed if you wanted a big dog...

She's really cute!

And please stop feeding her rawhide.

Oh my!! Mia is PRECIOUS! She's beautiful!!

Rocko's markings are similar to my Leo's! I don't remember seeing him before but he's so handsome!

Alex, that's not Brantly, right? I didn't think you had another. I need to catch up!

And Kamdon, I really hope Leo ends up no bigger than Kahlee! She's perfection!

Oh! And I love Sam's ears!!! :-)

(Now that I've bombarded this thread with frivolity...I'm done. I think....)

We all have Pitbulls in our family. Father in Law has 2 Pitt's. One in 70 pounds (2.5x my dogs size), the other is 65 pounds (2x my dogs size). Father In Law's girlfriend has a Pit - probably about 70 pounds as well (2.5x my dogs size). My wife's step-father has 2 Pitt's as well. One is 105 pounds and the other is 90 pounds - or 3x my dogs size.

PS, what's wrong with Rawhide?

Anything a dog puts in its mouth is a choke hazard. The real concern when giving a dog rawhide is that rawhide swells up to twice its size in the gut, if it does this it can create a serious blockage that could potentially necessitate surgery.
OP-- my girl is 12 months and as of a week ago she is 37 pounds lol. She's a tiny girl but I really prefer it! I think she may fill out a bit more, especially when we spay her in August.

Lily was ~36lb until she was 16 months. Between 16 months and 24 months, she filled out and gained 8lb. Like I said earlier in this thread, she's now 44-45lb, depending on the day. She was spayed at 6 months.

I like the smaller dogs and when it comes to pit bulls, bigger is not better.

Ares is 5 months and weighs 40lbs. He just came out of another growth spurt where he gained 8 lbs. in about 2 weeks. I really hope he stays smaller but at this rate I kind of doubt it lol
