Default Anyone heard of Iron pride kennels in TN?
I recently took a dog in from my buddy and I was looking over his paper work that he had and he came from a place called Iron Pride Kennels in Tennessee. I also saw on there that they worked with Iron Kross Kennels which have been banned from the UKC from my understanding. I tried to research them on google and I can't find anything. I know there use to be a website because when I was looking for breeders local to me, my buddy showed me them. Does anyone know anything about this kennel or heard anything? Also, since my dog has IKC deep inside his pedigree does that mean his UKC registration is useless and should be used for kindling?

There's a lot of dogs who still have peds with ICK blood, there's a couple breeders around here with ICK maybe 2 generations back and they still have UKC papers, I'm not really sure why either though

I just found out a few days ago that ICK was banned while I was trying to search for the breeder this dog came from. Just curious and wanting to know, plus I was bored.

Don't quote me on it, but I remember them being banned for paper hanging and crossing with another breed. Cane Corsos I think

Then why do dogs with that kennel in their history still get to keep their papers? It makes no sense to me.

Do you remember what area in Tennessee they were from? I'm not familiar with them, but all of my dogs are rescues/mutts, so I haven't been doing a lot of kennel research.

Do you have a reason for needing him to be UKC registered anyways? If you aren't going to show him, then his papers are useless regardless.

I have no plans for him besides a guard dog (which he is pretty damn good at, to protective at times) and a family house pet. He isn't neutered but he'll be getting that done sooner then later, I need to get my female puppy spayed first. The breeder is/was based in Clarksville, TN. I live here, the breeder was supposedly in the Army so I just figured they had to move and shut down. What started my curiosity though was boredom. I'm always looking at what some of these breeders are offering and I found out that ICK was banned and then I realized my dog had ICK in him somewhere. I was just curious and wanted to know more about the breeder he came from. I've never had a dog with papers and had no clue that if you don't plan on using the dog for anything besides a family pet they're useless. I kind of guessed it, that's why I asked if they should be used for fire kindling. I joined this board to learn more about the breed and how to take care of their special needs that they sometimes have. Not to figure out if my dog is meant to be breed or how to do it. I have 100 or so bird dogs back home that my uncle breeds, I'm not trying to get into it also.

Well now that just sounds like a headline waiting to happen.

You picked the wrong breed, if you want a guard dog. A sound bull breed is a shitty guard dog.

You've all been asked to stay on topic once already, please listen. If you want to start a new topic about Pit Bulls as guard dogs in the Debate section, feel free!

You know, this just isn't true.
Just from having experience placing a lot of puppies with pet people, they WANT the papers! They LIKE to be able to place their dog and it's pedigree and the dogs that produced HIM in the record of the history of the breed! Even if their dog never leaves the backyard! I can't count the number of pet people who go on to research that pedigree and learn about the dogs in it and therefore become knowledgeable pet people and often go on to participate in show and performance events.

Yes, maybe they should just care no matter what, but the pedigree=history and that grabs the interest of many.
