Default That Traitor
zach sister and he two daughters are staying with us for a few days and Maximus has decided I'm not his favorite any more. Now all he does is follow Alexis around, she is 3, and when I get home he will just look at me like "oh its you" and then go back to playing with Alexis. Good thing about him following her around is he cleans up when she drops food but I still don't like him having people food. Do any of your dogs go traitor when kids come over?

Diesel is a whore whenever anyone else is here, he instantly turns traitor as soon as they walk through the door

I've come to the realization long, long ago that my dogs have NO loyalty and NO shame in shoving it in my face

Yup. My dogs totally ignore everyone who lives here when glorious new people come over. Kids, adults...anyone. Last time I had visitors, it was my friends J and A. The minute they sat down until they left, Ike was on A's feet, Rita was curled up behind her, Renee was on J's lap and Owen laid down between them. They all acted like I was yesterdays news. For what I spend in food and vet care, you'd think they would show a bit more appreciation.

In a world where my dog could safely rome, I know he would be at the park everyday. I am sure he would come home to eat and sleep. He loves playing with kids, of all ages. He sometimes whimpers on our walks, when there are a group of kids playing ball. He plays ball with our girls in the backyard. IDK, I feel a sadness, knowing he wants to join in, but cannot. He has never taken my kids ball, he just runs beside whom ever has control of it at the time.
Yes, he seems to latch on to any guests, especially children.

4Girls, that reminds me of Roxy. She's an APBT owned by my neighbor. They have 6 kids and that dogs whole life is kids. When the neighbor was in the hospital for a few days having her youngest the other kids were at family members houses. Roxy was in the yard with shelter, food, and water. But Miss Roxy is an escape artist. And she was lonely without her kids. So, for those few days, she would escape her confinement and run to the end of the street to the playground or hang out on the island in the middle of the street ( we live on a cul de sac) where the kids gathered. Never went anywhere else, just wanted to wiggle and wag and lick the nearest bunch of kids. I think everyone on the block took turns leading her home and trying to figure out how the hell she was getting out.

MJJean .... I love that!
Those that don't have kids or even more than two kids, react sometimes like I am delusional, or sweetening Joker's personality. But, it is true. It is great to know others have the same experience with their dog(s).
Wonderful that your neighbors love Roxy and kept her safe. I hope my neighbors would do the same.

My boy Acheron is a ladies man, women from the ages of about 16 to about 35 can NOT resist his smooth charms and his gorgeous eyes. I swear if I was a man, I wouldn't have some little fluffy dogs to attract the ladies...I would have Ach. He gives them "the look" (all ladies here know what that is), they crouch down near him and he slowly walks over, wagging his tail and laying his head on their leg, looking up at them just so...they melt, MELT, when he does that. And it doesn't help that he can't resist the ladies either...my dog is a man whore....
