Default a great help !!
it has been a struggle getting crippen up to parr with his recall. so i borowed my mates stafford charlie, i took them a damn good walk up the old pit and forest, i know that charlies recall is spot on so i let him off leash and kept recalling him, then after a while i let crippen off too, when i shouted crippen just followed charlie, a lot of praise was dished out along with dog treats. i will repeat this until i am satisfied with crips progress.
dogs need good recall. it goes without saying..

What is "recall" if you don't mind me asking a stupid question?

Is it just that, calling him to you by name when they are off the leash???

Well I hope its a generic word like "come" or "here". If your just using the other dogs name to recall and the pit follows. I would not be assured that your training a solid recall when it's solo.

But if your using the pits name to preform the recall which causes the other dog to just shows up out of jealously and the pit follows. .. I have seen this work many times.. lolz

Thanks , I have been working on our young dog with her name and then "come" and she is getting good at it, though she is far from being ready to turn loose.

Yep. I find one of the fastest ways to teach some dogs things is to work them with another dog that is already trained
