I love the stillwater collars! I ordered the 1 1/2 inch in pink/green and even though he does not advertise it as his strongest collar.... I cannot imagine it ever breaking!

I also ordered a 2" one, but quite frankly I will never use it.

My only "minus" with the stillwater colars (and trust me, this is minor.. the only thing I can possibly find) is that they are stiff. If you are going to tie your dog on one, make sure you get the 5 ply. It has the silky inner liner!

Stillwater is my personal favorite. They're flashy, cheap, and very strong. They're long lasting. And while they may not be as pretty as some people would liike, they're amazing for reliability. And yes, they are stiff. But I've found that after a good bit of use, they become quite pliable. I encourage my dogs to hit the end of their leash and stay there when we're doing serious handwalking. And it works the collars out well. If you're just looking for a regular walking collar or one to wear around the house, I suggest another place or a thinner stillwater collar. The 2 inch collars are massively stiff. And being so wide, I can imagine it's uncomfortable for a dog to lie around in.

I washed the 1/ 1/2 inch collar about 15 times, and it broke in nicely! I am thrilled with it!

I am not sure what kind of tazmanian beast you would have to own to "need" the heavy duty line! lol We are actually abusing the 2" collar to see just what it will take to kill it. So far... it survived being used as a tow hitch!

Stillwater all the way. The four ply show collars are as flashy as I like to go, and 1.5 inch thickness are plenty of collar for most dogs. You can't beat the prices for super strong collars and hardware, and the show collars come in sick colour combos!

depending on what you are looking for i know of a local company (in orange county) that is just starting out that custom makes your collar and will fit it for your dog.

Nizmo's kennel supply also has really nice, thick, durable collars.
Nizmos K9 Supply

If you like durable + fancy + custom then something like Collarmania or Ella's Leads would be a good option.

I am a collar addict I will admit it I would go with stillwater for strength and everyday collars and for chain spots. I just got my pup his 1st one and its like 5ply nylon and was under 13 bucks and included shipping. I have a leather one that is getting close to 3 years old for my dog that is allergic to nylon, both my boys are outside dogs so yea it deals with all the weather and is STILL going strong.

for looks, I go with ella's leads for leather, it can get expensive but so worth it, very strong and durable, and beautiful, my next ella's leads collar is ganna be her veagen line which is waterproof, you can get embroidered leather, and much more. also her black leather leads are AMAZING just so ya know

Collarmania is wonderful for the cloth stuff I have a lot of it too, you can get an embroidered cloth collar, (many types of cloth, nylon, ribbon, criptic, I am probably missing some) its just in what ya like.

both ella's leads and collarmania make fully custom collars where as stillwater kennel makes them in bulk, but the differences are just in what you want them for, all are remarkably strong, I have never replaced any and I abuse them a lot (the puppy has been in a collarmania collar in the yard since I put him outside and though its dirty its still as strong as the day I put it on him)
