Default What breed do you think this dog is?
A "reputable" pit bull rescue here is saying this dog is a Shar pei/ EBD mix when IMO it clearly has SBT in it if not is full SBT.
Being as this is Ont. I think it's ridiculous.

Whatever it is, it looks like its missing and eye and looks like it went through some shit and came out on top. Props to that dog, I hope it finds a good home.

What's there to be so butt hurt about?

Who knows.
Have you seen the dog in person?
Shar pei mixes can have some pretty crazy coat texture.
He has some loose skin/wrinkles and looks like skin problems/swollen feet, just like a shar pei

Havnt seen it in person, I just am not a huge fan of the rescue and if they are labeling a SBT mix as something thats legal in Ont. it just makes me wonder.
Especially since they told me I need to muzzle my Kelpie x that looked nothing like a APBT or mix and told my mom to muzzle her perfectly legal EBT because they look like pit bulls?

I'm in a bitchy mood tonight so I'm not going to really say anything further, other than, who gives 2 craps about what they want to call this dog? Let this damn dog get a home and wipe your hands of it and move on with your life. How does this directly affect your life? Does this directly alter your current state of affairs? What are the consequences of this to you directly? Are the answers to these questions "it doesn't, no, nothing"? Because they should be. Let it go. /bitchfest

I'm going to call bullshit on YOUR judgement, Ali (because I'm in a bitchy mood, too!)

That dog looks NOTHING AT ALL like an SBT, and the fact that you think so just astounds me. It doesn't even look like a mix!

TRUE Shar Peis are not COVERED in wrinkles - They only have slight wrinkling on the face. That dog DOES look like a Pei mix.. Depending on size, I'd say EB or AB would be accurate. But SBT? No way in bloody hell, woman.

(of course, the dog is some random mutt, so WHO KNOWS. Doubtful that EITHER parent was purebred anything!)

I thought Ontario as BSL against SBT and that would explain any aversion to calling it such...but I agree with Teal, looks like a Shar-Pei mix to me.

looks like a stafford to me. there are plenty with rinkley heads.esp when their ears are pricked.
there is something wrong with his feet though as they look swollen down to the nails.

Ya, I can see Staffy as well. The head looks a bit odd in the first pic. The dog could be a Staffy x Shar pei or a very badly bred purebred Staffy.

perhaps his head looks a funny shape due to the incident in which he lost the eye.
possibly a run in with a car.

That's true. That could have happened. Ether that or that's how the dog was when he was born. I'd love to know. Wish they had more photos of him. He's cute in a odd way. I reckon he'll make some one a great pet.

Bullies in Need is crossposting the dog, they don't label or id such dogs, whatever shelter has her did and that dog doesn't look anything like a staffy bull. I would probably list her as a pit bull mix just in case but staffy? Don't see it.

Her back story

I wouldn't know a good stafford if I tripped over one, but I kinda like that guy. He's got a scrappy sort of look to him.

Looks like it COULD BE a fugly bred bull & terrier (likely with no purebred dog in the ped) and possibly mixed with something else. Want to say Shar Pei? ... I'm okay with that ... but Shar Pei is rare around here and the likelihood of that is very low ... Don't know about 3 thousand miles away in Canada.

Only the very best of wishes for the poor dog in finding a good forever home !!! That would be nice.

This is exactly it the only bully breed allowed in Ont. is English bull terriers, anything that resembles or is a mix of any other bully breed is banned here.
I just find it funny that such a rescue would be so hypocritical.
