I adopted my pit 4 years ago. I got him from a,friend who adopted him from a Katrina rescue group. He is now between 7 & 8 years old. He is animal aggressive other than puppies and small breed females, although he's calmer now that he's a little older. I want to move this summer. I'd stay with family. I can take him but he would have to be a outside dog. He has been indoors since his adoption. I don't think this would be fair to him. As much as it hurts I'm thinking about finding him a new family where he could still be inside and have a family to love and play with him. What should I do? Be selfish and keep my baby with me but outside or get him a new home. Either way he's going to have to suffer the change.

Keeping a dog outside is not selfish, it's just how some dogs live. It won't kill him and it's certainly not a reason to give him away unless you no longer have the means to support him. Make sure he has a kennel or chain spot with shade, water and shelter and call it a day. Dogs don't need couches and air conditioning to survive.
