Default how to make concrete kennel non slip?
I have my dog kennel on concrete and when it gets wet it gets slippery. It was poured many years ago and was never brushed to create a non slip surface. Does anyone know of a way or some kind of coating I can put on the concrete to make it non slip but also something non toxic? I thought of laying down non slip mats but he'll just chew it to pieces. My dog has luxating patella and the slippery surface makes his knee pop out more often than normal.

Lowes sells a non slip garage floor coating that will work. It's designed to go on concrete. You could also consider Herculiner. It comes in a gray color, which is what I would use since the black might get hot in the summer. Another option might be to go to Tractor Supply and get some stall mats and hold them down with some liquid nail or some other no BS adhesive so the dog can't get to an edge to chew on. Stall mats are heavy, so he couldn't move them around.

Thanks for the reply. I did look into Herculiner but also read that its made out of polyurethane which I hear is toxic to animals. Do you know what the non slip garage coating at Lowe's is made out of? I read that epoxy is safe once it hardens. I live in Hawaii so I'll have to find a local tractor supply shop for stall mats as I would think shipping on it would cost me more than the mats itself. Do you know off hand what the average cost for those mats are?

buy a bag of quikcrete and add some concrete to the surface and not finish it smooth, or buy some finisher and mix sand with it
