I'm partial to darker colored dogs, simply because they don't look dirty as quickly, but color is a plus for me, not a selling pointExtremely not fond of merle patterning
They don't look MUDDY as quick. Dust and other lighter colored stuff like pollen is always visible on my black dog.

Neither my black and tan nor my black showed much dirt, and neither did the brown one. Mostly just if they'd gotten done rolling in dirt but I didn't really let them do that too much, lol. But that color's deceptive at the same time. I've washed a good amount a filth out of a "clean" looking darker color dog too

^ Teal - unless you are from Canada or the UK, it's 'color' ... (sorry - I was thinking about that in bed last nite...)
you were thinking about Teal in bed last night?
oh my...
LOL. sorry, just kidding

anyhoo.

I am the odd one out here. I LOVE my blue dog. I think blues are gorgeous. but its not something I would base my decision for a dog on. not to mention blue dogs are harder to finish in conformation...

I also love tris and chocolates.

I don't like merles, only because merle is not something this breed should naturally produce.
I'm also not a fan of mostly white dogs.

I'm with ya, Hotelcali.

Blue is my #1 favorite coat color.

Red, especially the OFBA dogs. Buckskin is my second choice

My most favorite colours are deep reds (that reddish brown color), deep chocolates, and bright red brindles, especially if they have a white blaze and muzzle and socks. So beautiful! But what matters most to me is a good conformation, no matter what color they are, if their body is well proportioned and balanced, and they have a nice looking pitty face, I'm in love.

Red, red fawn w/ black mask, chocolate and black & tans appeal to me the most. But I like most colors.
Also, the more minimal the white, the better. Although flashy white markings are growing on me.
