If my dog liked to pee on the sidewalk, I'd carry a water bottle with me and use it to wash the sidewalk. A cap full of bleach in a water bottle is a good idea -- it will disinfect your water bottle, too -- just don't drink from it.
This. Better than just leaving it there.

Do they not realize that raccoons, squirrels, rats etc piss and crap all over their lawns and house never even mind the side walk.
Here the end of someone's lawn is considered city property and the side walks are also city property.
I guess I'd be that bitch owner who told the guy to shove it cause it's not his property.
It's considered city property??? Are you responsible for mowing that lawn and shoveling that sidewalk? What happens if you don't mow or shovel? I know in my area the city will fine you. If you still don't do it they will fine you again and then send one of their crews to do it and send you the bill. I know it's "public" property but the public is not held legally responsible for it. If you were legally responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of a piece of "public" property, wouldn't you want the public to be more respectful and courteous of that property? Oh and the kicker for me is it's considered city/public property but you still have to pay property taxes on it (that's for a whole other forum )

here the parkway is maintained by the city IF it has trees that they decide to put in in front of your house however you are to have the grass mowed. We don't get snow so no shoveling needed. if you want to make any changes to the parkway you have to get a permit from the city.

i have to say dogs pee on our little block fence all the time and i honestly don't care because Peanut also pees on it and that is at the end of our grassline. however i do not like when people leave their dog poop on my grass because i would never do that to others. especially on the part that is considered our property not the parkway which is the cities property. i also hate the stray cat poop on the property but it belongs to no one and the city doesn't care if stray cats are everywhere.

like i mentioned earlier there are far worse things on our sidewalks that gross me out far worse then a little dog pee (which isn't as common to see here then the other nasty things)

that sounds very much like our neighborhood. i counted on my walk today 3 different places vomit. I am really thinking about not walking Peanut anymore if i find more of this yuck. the city just re did some sidewalks and covered up a swasticka (spelling) and where they covered that up the next day someone wrote white boys on it..brand new sidewalk
all my neighbors are really nice and we stop to talk to most everyone but the gross park has some aweful people that cut thru the neighborhood and leave all kinds of nasty things. the other day there was even a small baggie with some sort of white thing inside it that finally got picked up by the streesweeper today. Peanut will NOT walk in that park we have tried taking him a few different times and he PULLS to get out of it and he always walks on a heel otherwise.
That sounds familiar... Well, not the sidewalk graffiti...yet. Whats really strange is that we have another park about 3 blocks away thats very nice and clean. The punks never go there because the hoops are in the school yard. But at least I never have people bitching if my dogs pee
