It's absolutely not just you! And I think anyone recommending scolding him didn't actually READ the posts, and think it's a housebreaking issue!

Maybe it's just me but I think at 5 years old with a medical issue scolding him will do more harm than good. He probably feels bad about it already and since it's a medical issue he can't control it's like scolding him for just being. Gentle positive guidance to use the pads until this issue is resolved is my recommendation.

If you use a heavy feminine pad it should be fine for awhile.

I would totally get pee pads.. you have to watch him and know when hes about to go pee then put him on top of the pad and praise him. If he makes mistakes tell him no.. then put him on top of the pad and praise him. Eventually your dog will learn! For the smell.. if you have bleach safe floor i'd use clorox and a mop, then dry it off with old unused towels..

saw dust is very absorbent and free from alot of timber yards, mills etc. just bag it up and bin it ! i would recommend cleaning the lino with a pet friendly dissinfectent (sp) because dogs will pee where they smell pee....shouting at a dog for peeing can have a reverse effect, but training him out of it shouldn"t be impossible.

I have a stack of old towels with holes or worn spots. I keep them for dog use only. If a dog vomits, has watery poo or pees on the floor, I grab one off the shelf to clean it up. Then I use a mob with bleach water to go over the spot. If bleach bothers you then you can use vinegar and water mixture instead.

Belly bands are awesome, if you want to buy some. My friends mom takes in Pugs for a rescue. They are technically fosters, but the reality is they are all either very old or have health issues and won't be adopted. She has quite a few of her group wearing belly bands because of health problems making them pee at random. Usually, she goes through 3 a day. If you get the belly bands you should buy 2-4 and be prepared to change the band 2-3 times a day, depending on how often he goes. Just simply wash the dirty one and reuse. Much less expensive than pee pads, which are disposable and you'd keep having to buy them.

Ok, so, I need to know what people use to clean/soak up dog pee.

In my shed I have Lino so it's easy to clean up but what I'm using seems to take forever. I'll use paper towel but since Sunny makes huge pee puddles, it takes forever. I use rags as well but now I'm running out of them.

Can anyone suggest anything useful?.

I am hoping these tablets that I was told to give Sunny will stop this peeing but it it doesn't, then it's something more serious. I'll find out next week hopefully.

well, it sounds like you already named what you can use. if the puddles are that big maybe you can use an old scrap blanket then toss it.

Got a water hose? Use a towel then rinse it out with water hose. Have 2 or 3 dedicated for pee and always rinse after clean up.

I use rags and windex (glass cleaner with amonia) ... rags can be washed and reused ya know. I'd be trying to stop the habit too. My little Mason is a long way from being housebroken and pees in the house every few days or so. We're working on it.

Why would you use ammonia to clean up pee. Isn't that already in the pee? Just asking

Got any hints for getting it out of the windex when that's what it comes with? LOL ... I use it cause that's what's in it. Regardless, windex smells better than pee but that's just my opinion I guess.

Thanks. Looks like I may need to buy more rags and that. Mops don't seem to work that great sadly. I'd love to use a water hose but my room would have to much water in it, lol.

I'll buy some more rags then. Sunny is the 5yo who has had a peeing problem over the past few months, It's a medical issue, so there isn't much I can do sadly regarding to toilet training. He has been toilet trained since 8 weeks. He's on tablets but if they don't work, it's more of a serious issue. So, it's not really his fault and I don't want to make him sleep outside.

Rags are rags Tahlz. Ya don't need to buy any. I use old t-shirts and like Kamdon, sometimes towels. After the rags and towels go through the wash ... you'd never know the difference.

Anytime I'm cleaning up any spills, it a lot of water is included, I get my most/best absorbent towels and use those, then wash them with some bleach.
