This was a few days ago but still, just thinking about it makes me happy.

Since I was remodeling my place getting ready to sell it, I was in and out of Lowes and Home Depot for over a week, almost every single day, sometimes multiple times!

And I take Bear with me pretty much everywhere, and these places were no exception. I usually have a little bit of a time getting him to focus and not get to excited and act decent.
I have been working with his commands a ton the last month or so, and last week was the tester for him.

He went to the home improvement stores every single time, and you know when you see that dog that is just so damn well behaved, and is following the owners commands and being 100% focused on the owner and you think "Damn, I wish my dog acted like that!"

Well that was Bear every single time we were inside the stores!

He was so damn good! Gosh it made me so proud of him, I was beaming every time we left the store. He got so many "good boys" and petting when we were in the car, it was awesome.

Normally he can only go in a couple times, because even just a little pulling or having to be corrected makes my neck/shoulder/upper back hurt so bad, its almost not worth it to take him. Which would break my heart because he is pretty much my service dog.
So if anyone is thinking your dog is just "like that" and you cant get them to be that dog that you see being the most perfect mannered thing you have ever seen, its not true.
All you have to do is set your mind to it and take the time to work work work with your dog and show them what your asking them to do, and PRACTICE!

Maybe he is starting to get everything, maybe it has to do with him getting ready to be a year old, or maybe its because I refused to just let him be "like that" and asked him to step his game up and be as close to perfect as he could be. Not quite sure, but man is it awesome when your dog breaks through that ceiling and becomes the dog that all the neighbors, family members, and strangers want their dogs to act like!

(And to top it all off he is a pit bull typed dog, and him being so dang awesome and well behaved helps to show people that these dogs arent mindless vicious animals like all the crap they normally hear about them)

Just had to share Bear's good job!

Thanks He is a good dog when he wants to be

Awesome! what a good boy Bear! Goren is good if there is no other animals lol
Lol oh when he see's other dogs in there, which happens on occasion, he wants to go and "say hi" but he will restrain himself. Although this one time while in the check out line some idiot lady walked her mini poodle thing up to him, even though I said he liked to grab fluffy dogs and he grabbed its ear fluff and did not want to let go.
Poodle wasnt injured but the lady sure as hell freaked out. She probably wont do that again.

Good Job Bear! Are dogs normally aloud in places like that??
Like Teal said, yes they are. Dogs are allowed, unless otherwise stated, in every place that doesnt have food. At least thats the law in my state, unless they are Service Dogs.

I would just call the store and ask if dogs are allowed in. Its not a law thing, unless there is food for sale because unless its a service animal it can be a health hazard or something and cause the business to get fined/shut down.
