There is an all dog breed rescue near me that got the shaft really hard by the local AC. They were on a trip to Conn. delivering dogs to the people that adopted them and while they were gone they broke down in NY and were delayed (during Irene) and while they were waiting for their van to get fixed an elderly dog in their care passed away at their home, the individual who was caring for the dogs at their home had fed all of the animals and the elderly dog was fine, but passed sometime after the lady did what she had to do, anyway the dog died in the front yard after the lady left and someone called AC, the rescue group was taken to court and the judge told them they all they needed to do was to get their numbers down to 40 which is their limit, they had 70 dogs and cats total. He did not give them a time frame to get them into new homes, froze their accounts so they could not take in adoption fee's and a few other things, well after 30 days the local AC went over and told them they had 7 days and had to get rid of all but 20 or he would return to take the dogs to the shelter which is a kill shelter, and these people have pulled these dogs from kill shelters so that isn't good. They run everything on their dime, feed bill, shelter fee's , vet fee's, everything. The money they do get from adoptions go back into helping the dogs. Check them out and if you can help them out.
