Default going to look at this pup today
I have been having MAJOR puppy fever, to the point I want one no later than Christmas if I can find one through a rescue/shelter that fits my temperament req. well my friend just got two 8 week old Chi/dochshond mixes (they were free, and I tried to talk her outa it but man they are cute and if she can afford it at least I know they will be fully shotted, spayed/neutered and on HW and flea preventatives) well it just got my going more and I have been looking at this boy for about a week anyhow...well here he is, if he is as sweet as he is cute and as long as Goren can tolerate (does not have to like but at least so I am not having to have them on 100% rotation right out the gate you know..he does great with pups anyhow so I am sure he will tolerate at the minimum and try to share toys at the max) well here he is

oh I am so MAD...the shelter said that TODAY (got there at freaken 10:15 they open at 10...) that he was pulled by a rescue, and that he was in foster (all the other pups in foster say so on the petfinder, his does not) I am just pissed, and sad and emotional because this is like the 3rd dog in I donno 5 years that I wanted to look at that was pulled into rescue that same day...I guess I was not supposed to even get to meet him

no they didn't, they said he was not available because he was going to a rescue and since he was in foster he would not be coming back there at all

yea, but the bad thing is all the rescues out here are outrageous (well aside from the one I got Goren from) they charge around 250-300 where as this shelter is 95 so it would be hard, because that is UNFIXED with a voucher that does not cover the entire spay/neuter surgery. I am going to look around since I really want a pup, ganna stay home tonight and clean the house since it really REALLY needs picked up (not dirty just been moving so much stuff to get rooms painted that there is stuff where there needs to not be stuff you know)

If you can find out which rescue pulled him, I would contact them. All the dogs around here that are in foster care are still available for adoption. Just because he is in a foster home doesn't mean he's been adopted yet. Foster families are there to help them get used to being in a home with other dogs or children, to access how they react/respond to different noises/situations. If I were you, I'd try to contact them and see what they say. Best of luck to you with Joker, he's adorable!

I feel your pain. I thought we found the perfect little guy for Raven and lo and behold he comes down with some respiratory infection and some kind of skin issue. Gaud.. at the rate we are going, I think I should just pull all Roxy's teeth and keep the bitch just to spite her!

aww that sucks, I didn't know that one of your pack had a resp. infection I know right, I seriously want a pup and if these ones are what I think they actually are (not pitbulls but maybe classic AM. Bullies) I will be sunk because at the cheap price (small rehome fee since they don't want every kid around asking about them) and the fact that I have wanted a classic since seeing Cleo I will be totally puppy struck and have to take one >.< I just hope one is right for my family (meaning submissive since Goren like submissive dogs it would make things a bit easier...and a little on the calm side but that is doughtful in a healthy pup hehe)

Not one of my present pack. We had a xolo on hold from a shelter, staying with a friend to quarantine him, with hopes of him becoming part of the pack but his health is not robust enough for us. I wish I never told Raven about him at all. She got her hopes up, fell in love and once again, was disappointed

Are you going to aim for a female? I'm assuming he might do better with one?

that is good that he was not part of the pack for Raven's health sake at least but really sucks she was disappointed, the dog will come for her one of these days.

I like males more (don't really know why but yea) but it will have to do with temperament, he does do better with females so I might just go that way if one is right since I know he got along with Abby from day one and she would punk him (he would end up with a bloody lip from play boughts since they played rough hehe, she would have no scratches on her >.

I hear ya. I tend to prefer females but went with Moonshine as I figured I had enough bitches.
