Kojack is very excited when he goes outside to the yard. I know I should keep an eye on him (he's only 6 months) but when I come home I let him out and go back in and prepare my meal and eat real quick. When I finish I come back out to get him and i see that the next door neighbor (who has a pitbull male too) has dug up his side of the fence and now my dog can squeeze under it to his side. This has caused my dog to dig under two other sides of the fence both to the street. How do I stop his habit

How do I stop his habit Quite simply, it is not worth the risk to your dog to go back inside and fix something to eat. Either let the pup out real quick and stay outside with him while he does his business, or if you can't wait to eat, wait to take him out until after you have eaten. ![]() |

I agree with everyone else, chain spot. I have my girl on a zipline though as I want her to have more freedom of the yard. I live at home and my dogs are ether outside (while I'm working or if I am home and need alone time) other then that, they are inside my room with me. Serenity jumps the fence at random or if she hasn't been exercised so she's on the zipline unless I can watch her. My boy, Sunny, he has free roam of the yard though since he doesn't escape. It will benifit your boy and keep him safe so please do that unless you can fix your yard up properly.

Agree on chain spot for your dog, or cable runner if that will work for you. I had to make my own but it wasn't hard. Home depot or Lowes sells some good stout cable to make it out of. If you want your neighbor's dog to stop digging under your gate run a hot wire across the bottom of it on the outside. It won't take many times and he'll decide that it's the wrong place to dig. As a bonus, it will discourage your dig from digging too if he should ever happen to get off his new chain.

I wish I could do a zipline but all the ones I see are really flimsy looking... |

Theres some fence that can go underground, I wouldnt say thats a guarantee. You have a pit bull puppy. They are known to be escape artists (thats the terrier i them) You should just create a chainspot if you cannot supervise while he is outside, thats really the best way to prevent anything from happening.

If you're leaving him loose in the yard, you need to watch him, no matter what age he is. If he's going to be on a tie-out, make sure the tether is the right length. You don't want to worry about him hanging himself by getting over the fence or still being able to get to the fence to dig and possibly get stuck.
