Don't really have a routine. As long as the dogs get fed & exercised sometime during the day, it's all good. Boyfriend is in charge of exercising the dogs most days, usually at night so Ethel doesn't die. ![]() If I'm working night shifts, he gives them dinner. When I get home, everyone goes out to potty and hang out with me while I water the garden. Everyone comes inside and eats while I have a drink and relax. Everyone naps and goes out one more time before I go to bed. Working during the day, dogs go out when I get up and do the garden thing, come back in and eat in their crates then nap while I feed the cat and the ferrets and get ready, when I leave everyone goes to their respective places. When I get back, everyone goes out, we hang out until it's dark and go on a bike ride, they get dinner then hang out all night. |

I normally wake up anywhere from 6-10, feed myself and the dog, bum around outside with Roxie till it's time to go to work, get home, bum around outside some more until my show comes on, then take her for a walk and go to sleep. I'm easily bored, so we do whatever we find interesting... playing, "hunting" (aka sniffing and chasing, and Rox will catch something if she's lucky enough, lol), walking around town, etc.

Always before work and after. I get up at 5, let Tutti out in the yard...although she would LOVE to sleep later, she is NOT a morning dog.
![]() I'd love to be able to fit in more morning exercise - she definitely gets bored during the day. |

Don't really have a routine. As long as the dogs get fed & exercised sometime during the day, it's all good. ![]() So, my general routine is: Wake up between 6:15-7, depends on if I'm working. Let out to potty, feed. Sometimes we go to the park, usually from 8-9am. If I'm working, I leave around 8:30 and I'm home around 12. Let out, play, whatever. Feed dinner at around 4:45. And they will sit and stare at me if I'm late LOL. Even the cats know.. because I feed them right after the dogs. Other than feeding times, we aren't too scheduled in what we do. Some days they go to the park, some days they sleep the entire day. Just depends! |

I roll out out of bed around 7:30-8 AM. Kick my dogs out, roommates dogs are already out. I shower, get dressed. Let Riddick in and feed him. Let the dogs in and lock Casper and Pongo in my room. Leave for work by 8:15. I don't do mornings!
Come home around 1-1:30. Let dogs out. Put them up around 2:00 and come home between 5:30-6pm. If weather is permitting we will go across the street to the school yard around 8pm and let them run and throw the ball for the crazy ones. On my days off, if weather permits (we live in FL and for the past month we have had horrendous storms) we go hiking. |

We don't have a set routine. I get up at 5am, let Nick & Rosie out, then they come in for breakfast and go back to bed.
Sometimes I take them to work with me, sometimes they hang out at home. When I get home, sometimes we go for a walk, sometimes I throw the ball for Rosie and hold the tug for Nick. Thursday we have agility practice (or Rally if we're short on people). Weekends I usually take them shopping with me, and depending on weather/tide they go to the beach. But, everything will be changing next week when DH goes on nights. |

at the moment its just feed him at about 10am a few hours after we get home from work...Lee and I work 3rds and my feet are swollen when I get home due to being pregnant so we don't take Goren walking at the moment. We try to take him to the park on a weekly basis so he can run and we can flirt pole with him, This week we had to paint so we did not get to yet (normally take him on our weekend)
My normal routine is home from work at 7:30am get Goren ready for walk go walk from 8am to 10am get home, rest a half hour feed Goren at 10:30am then time for me and bed by noon to 1pm Since Goren is not a high energy dog it works pretty well, I will flirt pole with him to but that is not part of the daily |

Thread after thread I read at this forum, and others that I'm a part of constantly say that a tired dog is a good dog, enough exercise and stimulation can solve many problems, that dogs thrive on routine etc etc. I thought to start this thread to help each other who may be struggling with a routine that fits with their lives and dogs, even more so if you have to crate and rotate your dogs. Maybe they'll get an idea from someone else posting that will help!
For me, it's up at 7:00AM to feed Kenzo and Spud breakfast. About 7:30 I bring Spud for his hour long walk, then come home and it's time for Kenzo. We go out and play fetch in the back yard from about 8:30 to 9, then it's time for me to head off to work. While I'm doing that, my husband wakes up at 8:30 to feed and let out Lady, Jokes, and Callie. I leave for work around 9:30, and when my husband comes back from dropping me off he walks Callie, Jokes, and Lady. They get the run of the house until my husband has to leave for work in the early afternoon, then everyone is kenneled with a kong or bone. When we get home from work at 10pm it's dinner time, then we let the dogs have the run of the house until bed time. This time is usually spent chewing on things, or wrestling, or playing tug with my husband or I. So, what's your daily routine? How do you wear your dogs out? How do you do a crate/rotate schedule that benefits everyone? |

I am a stay at home wife and mom, so its pretty easy for me. I get up, feed, water and love the parrot. Then, while coffee is brewing, I let the dogs outside, bring them back in, feed and water in their crates otherwise they would be eating each others food and then I wouldn't be able to tell who is sick. While they eat, I feed, water and fill the tortoise bath. Then everyone naps while I have coffee. When they wake, they go out again. After that, they have run of the house except the pup because she is still in training and leashed to me.
In the evening, we walk, play and do a bit of obedience. Then I repeat the morning routine with the dogs and parrot. The get fed and crated just before we eat dinner, so they nap while we eat and then get let outside to potty. Afterward, they have run of the house til last potty of the night around 11pm, crate the dogs who cannot be trusted not to eat my stuff or potty on the floor overnight and bedtime for humans. The boy child feeds and waters the cat after dinner, because he lives in my sons room and is his responsibility. |

Peyton wakes me up promptly at 7:45am everyday when he hears the coffee maker beep. I let him out and downstairs, my parents let him out and feed him since they are already up before me, and I'm getting ready for work. Then we play outside for a good 30 minutes and run around so he's worn out somewhat. Then after we all leave for work, he snoozes around the house or hangs out with my sisters if they aren't in class.
After we all come home from work, he gets fed and then we either go for a walk, to the park, to the beach etc or just play outside depending on the weather and what we all have going on. He's such a mellow dog, he just goes with the flow with whatever we wanna do that day. If we wanna be SUPER active, we can. or, if we're all being lazy and just wanna lay around, he's happy with that too as long as he has a Kong full of nomz or a good bone. Just whatever we wanna do that day, he's game. It's quite nice! |

Alarm goes off at 6:15. If Odin was in the other room, he'll come in to the bed and crawl under the covers. We usually sleep for another 15 mins. Then I'll take him for a walk/play fetch until 7:15 or so. He gets fed and I go to work.
I come home, he'll be asleep in the bed. He can't be bothered coming to the door, so I go upstairs and we take a 30 minute nap. Then we'll go on another walk/swim/play for an hour or so. I'll make dinner while Odin takes a nap. I eat, he'll eat, then we watch TV for a bit. Then it's out for a final bathroom trip and off to bed. Very exciting.... |

Pete and I get up at 6.He takes Bug and Mindy out for a half hour run,and I take Shady,Mookie and Floozie out for half hour to an hour, depending on how energetic I feel lol.
Come home feed the dogs, clean the ferrets out, then have some breakfast and put the computer on while I eat. Then normally I take 'my' 3 (Shady,Mookie,Floozie) to work with me in the morning,I groom and they run around the garden or lie under my feet. Then I bring them home, swap them for Mindy and Bug and take them to the Newfoundlands that I dog sit so they can play in their huge garden. Then back to work with Mindy and Bug. In the evening I'm either at agility with Floozie and Mookie,or SaR with Shady,or taking them for a long run. Then I have to get the ferrets in,one group at a time (there's 3 groups) clean them again, put the back out,let the dogs back downstairs, then have some dinner and go to bed. |

Slayer and I get up usually at 8am, I feed her, water her and get her to use the bathroom in the backyard. She then gets to play tug or fetch with me until she tires out some. I bring her in..she naps..at 11 I take her for a half hour walk, she comes in and naps again. For the day she chills with me and gets to play tug all she wants or go to the bathroom is she asks and then at 7pm my fiance comes home for work. He feeds her dinner and roughhouses with her for an hour or so and then its wind down time.

Weekdays at 5:15 am it hit the snooze until 5:30am...lol I get dressed and take Boomer for a jog/power walk for about 40min. I extremely lazy days at 5:30am I walk him for a half hour and flirt stick him for about 10 to 15 minutes. When we get back to the house he gets fed. while he is eating I shower and get dress. Soon after I am off to work.
He sleeps for the rest of the day until I get home. Depends on what time I get home but he gets a another walk for at least 30 minutes usually an hour or more. Or on nice days that are no hot (recently) we bike for about 40 minutes. He gets fed again. He gets hyper (zoomies) around 10:00 pm. It is flirt stick time for 15 to 20 minutes. |
