Default I saw the behaviorust
So, I just saw the behaviorist, some one Stormi recommended.

I am happy but also saddened after meeting the lady, Dee.

So, she has told me a lot of things that I should start doing which I will. We then headed out to work with Serenity. Serenity was quite happy and fine to see Dee, after showing me a few things we went out the front and did some work. Serenity again seemed fine, even when she got her husband to come out. She let out one bark but it was because the neibors were making noise. Her tail did become tucked at one stage when Dee was walking from behind Serenity so I now know not to allow people to walk behind her. She showed me some useful things to do to work with Serenity when out so thats all good for now, I have to continue to do what Dee showed me and check in with her a week later.

So, she did say that Serenity has a lot of potential to be worked with as she is very food motivated and wants to work for me, she did quite well very quickly. What worries her is Serenity didn't show her some of the behavior I see so it can make Serenity a tad unpredictable which can be dangerous (as I've said, there are some people she will like while others she will react to).

So, I am to keep Serenity away from people at the moment or at a distance to work on her training of course.

At the end of the meeting, she put it blankly. I have two choices, put Serenity down OR heavily manage her. Of course I will work with her, it shattered my heart hearing the words directly that I do need to be careful with Serenity for the rest of her long life. This breaks my heart, having to hear that.. I always said if I had a dog with issues towards people, no way in the word would I keep the dog but owning a dog like this, I really had to sit down and think. I'm ready for the challenge, I know what I need to do, I know I CANNOT slack off. I am happy I can continue with Lure coursing. Agility, we'll see.

My heart just hurts. I am still accepting my dog is a liability, a dog that I will have for the next 13 years and I will always need to be careful. I am willing to do this, I LOVE and ADORE Serenity, I will do whatever for her and she can be worked with, she has so much potential. It just hurts.. My worst fear is just she will bite some one, my fear is loosing her.. So, that is why on lure coursing she will be muzzled if allowed and Agility (if she can do it) she will be muzzled.

I'm so angry at myself to, I wish I had done things properly from the start!. I just need to make up for it now.

I see this face and know I need to work with her. I love her so much.

Beides this, she said to get a DAP collar and DAP spray which I will. She also thinks it''s a bad idea to get another working breed but sorry, there my breed, I adore them and will have another, not for a LONG time and then, I WILL do things properly. Dee was a lovely woman, very positive and very helpful.

I am hoping to do group training at Urban Dog Training that Lee has recommended, very positive dog training people.B

Gee, that's funny... I recall several pages in a thread where people told you the exact same thing.

I'm glad to hear you got an evaluation on your dog, honest and hard as it was to hear, you will be one who won't set your dog up for failure!

Please keep us posted and updated.

I had a DAP collar and spray for my puppy for some severe seperation anxiety issues we were having when he was younger, and I couldn't tell a difference to be honest. The collar/spray is supposed to emit pheramones that a mother dog would release to her puppies to calm them or something, but it didn't help Peyton.

But, if you choose to buy one, do NOT get one from your vet or Petsmart. They will charge you up the ying yang. Order them off amazon instead, you'll find them half price. Good luck!

I've got 2 dogs that I don't trust around people %100 of the time, so I thought I'd chime in on this.
Keeping a dog that is a danger to humans in any way is a huge responsibility, though I'm sure you know that.

If you think that you can keep her with the confidence that she will not have any incidents, that you will not fail, then all the power to you.
But don't take that chance unless you're sure.

Good luck Tah, you're getting there, it's really nice to see the improvements you've been making.

I have no idea if they work but I'll let you know when I try it. I've heard some great things about them though from other people who use them though.

Thanks for sharing this. I understand the comiment I have to put into this and that's fine, I fully understand that. I know I can do this. If I didn't believe I could then I would honestly make the choice not to have her but I know I can do the right thing. I'll do anything to make sure she is around till old age.

People actually pay other people for this kind of shit??

From now on if anyone here has ANY problem that could be solved with common fucking sense- just holler at me and for only $10.00 (American currency) I'll help you out. Tell your friends and family about me,too.
