Default Found this poor little thing :(
If this isn't okay to post here or is in the wrong area (not sure where else would be more appropriate) please move it? thank you

Today, just out of the blue, I felt like taking a walk that i hadn't taken in quite a while, near our house, normally we drive somewhere for a sidewalk.

Anyways, were almost home and this precious little guy comes jetting up to us, and he's SO freindly with Both Tobi and myself... terribly thin, (14lbs) and just bones... We walked to the nearest house and knocked, nobody was home. the neighbor of them had approached us at that time telling me that 2 of them were dropped out of a car this morning!!! one was hit and killed and the animal control came out too look for this one and clean up the other today... such bastards that would drop him and his sibling off like that, not to mention this guy looks like he's been through the ringer!!

I took it upon myself knowing full well my landlord is going to blow a gasket to take him in until i can find a new home for him ( doing home checks as well) He's so sweet and he's just been glued to me, even after i bathed him, cleaned his ears and clipped his nails, I named him Jet...

I just wanted to post some pictures of him, I don't want anything for him, i don't even want a re-homing fee (which is garbage anyways imo) were going to have him vetted, and wormed as his little belly seems so bloated, and he had horrible diarrhea and a little growth near his right ear... But he smells so much better, and he'll get raw while he's here. Were going to start him on chicken quarters as we can't find backs and wings as we can't find backs here.

Also, I am going to put up flyers at some stores, vets, and even craigslist (not that i like it but there is a lot of traffic, and i will be in deep s@#% if my landlord finds out we have a second dog here even if it's a stray) in hopes that i can find a quality person looking for such a sweet little thing.

Any ideas on breed makup? to me it looks like it has Australian shepherd in him... the tail i can't tell if it's docked or not, but... i can't imagine somebody docking it and then just dumping it off.

Here are a few pictures... Tobi, and Jet.

You can see how skinny he is better in this one

Very curious appearence to him. I can't really guess at a breed. He may need to be dewormed he is thin but his tummy looks bloaty to me..I could be wrong but better to be safe then sorry. I hope he finds a home and that the landlord doesnt notice him. He is such a cutie. As for food..maybe try a small serving..see how he does and go from there? He needs to eat for sure.

What a cute little boy! I have no guess as to breed, but I do have an ACD who was born with a tail just like that. Other than color and tail he doesn't look much like Cheyenne.Good luck finding a home and staying under the landlord radar!

Ya he does have an odd look, we've tried to pinpoint it through pictures on the net of dogs with a naturally docked tail but the aussie is the closest look, sometimes he almost looks boxer ish as well

We are for sure de-worming him, we've got an apt on thursday at the vet to get him checked out, and for sure going to run some worming meds through him.

We'll be starting him on about 3-4% of his weight, and going up to 7-8 by the middle of the month i'm sure... he already was digging on some meat i'm sure he'll love it!!!

Good to hear. The poor little thing. maybe with some wieght on him his breed will be more apparent. The boxer thing makes some sense but his face is FAR to nice to be boxer....and the aussie...well so far he isnt furry enough..hmm.. a cutie regardless.

hmm, cute, but NO idea what he might be.
That last pic, from the pose and bony rear end, reminds me of a moose. And those ears!

He kinda has a shepherd look.. Maybe a shepherd/boxer? He looks like the puppy version of a few pics that came up on Google. He sure is cute though.

I'll admit, I looked at the pics before I posted but didn't read the text. Now that I've read it, I see you also thought shepherd.

He reminds me of the cowdogs a shelter here pull off of the Resevoir so he is probably some kind of cow dog. Heeler/Boxer maybe? He is super cute and lucky you found him. Hopefully he gets some weight on him, poor guy.

He's really adorable, thank you for taking him in, poor little guy.

I don't know about your area, but here we have people who "dock" the tails themselves. Granted, I live on an indian reservation, and things are different here.

Ya Tobi is enjoying the hell out of having him around actually, and surprisingly he shares his food with him!!!!

The little guy is finally acting more like a puppy!! coffee table surfing and everything!! /training begins :P

Here are some pics of his dinner late last night, and early this morning, he'll get a wing tonight to hopefully firm him up more... the poor thing has had diarrhea ever since we've had him here....

Last night's... he didn't end up eating the bone as he probably wasn't sure what to do with such a big one:P

This morning... I obliterated the bone outside with a hammer so that he could get the benefits of the bone today

the way i figure... can't get much more usable and easier to access than raw, his body won't hae to work on stuff he can't use so hopefully it will speed his recovery that much more.

well he had 2 drummies today... and a wing... dude acts like he's starving still!! he's more of a scrounge than Tobi. hopefully in 2-3 weeks we won't see much rib or hips!!
