Default Sick of dogs in this town..
And I swear to god, the next dog that even looks at Roxie funny is gonna get the shit beat out of it. I've had enough of her getting attacked, whether the dog be be off leash or on... Normally I'm very good at protecting her, but tonight a Border Collie ran through a field (we were walking on the side of the road) and nailed Roxie so hard that the leash came out of my hands and Roxie flew (yes, FLEW) into the road, nearly getting run over by a car. She's got bite wounds on her legs and she's limping... I'm gonna have to take her to the vet tomorrow.

I really wish I was in the shape to have been able to run after it, but it took off like a bullet. This dog completely came out of nowhere, neither me nor Roxie even heard it (well, I think she did, but at the last second... she had zero time to react). I have never been so pissed off. Anyway, I cleaned up the wounds, put antiseptic on them...

I don't know what the hell I'm gonna do with her now, I can't have her hurting herself with that limp... though hopefully that's just from impact and nothing major. But if that dog ever crosses paths with me again... god help it.

Damn. I am sorry !! I know how you feel about off leash BC running out of nowhere and attacking your dog, Bear got his toe dislocated by one at the park by my house.. It jumped on him from behind and rolled him into the ground :/

I would put her on kennel rest and no playing. I know it took Bear's foot a few days to swell up and act weird, so just put her up to be safe..

I feel you on wanting to catch the dog who jumped on yours, I at least got a good hit or two in by the metal prong and leash clip on the end of his lead on the BC that jumped on Bear.

Wow! I would carry a hand held pellet or airsoft gun with me from then on! You might not be able to chase it, but you could pop it in the arse as its running off.

Yeah, she's definately gonna be out of the game for at least a week. I would have loved to be able to at least slap the damn dog... I can't believe people around here, just no care in the world at all if their dog is loose. Any more of this crap and I'm gonna have to get her a bodyguard, lol.

Teal... definately gonna invest... mamma bear needs some claws, lol.

Yep I agree with Teal. A well placed plastic pellet will make that dog think twice about running up on anything near you again lol

It infuriates me to no end, that the dogs that people in the general public think are dangerous are the ones who are on leashes and well behaved and who get attack by someones jackass dog off leash.. its so wrong :/

I had a troublesome dog in my neighborhood, once. I shot it in the ass with a blow dart. It was hilarious.

Roxie just has bad luck with dogs. She's very friendly, gets on great with other dogs that are actually under control and have responsible owners... but it's like every out of control dog around just has to have a piece of her.

Oh, and to add to her attack rap sheet, she nearly got attacked by a chocolate Lab today. Labs sure are mean around here, lol. There's only ONE well-behaved Lab in my neighborhood... it pisses me off so much. I need a hamster ball for the poor dog.

Chloe, darts were next on my list of possible ammunition... probably my favorite, actually. I'd love to be able to sedate the damn thing and drag it to the vet with me.

could you call AC and make complaints of multiple loose dog that are "dangerous". they should at least check into it.. thought i doubt AC will do much of anything thats productive.
that sucks. we've had a couple incidence. enough to where i can now leave that dog dead in its tracks. I dont put up with that stuff, and we shouldnt have to. we should be able to be and feel safe while walking our dogs. if a unleashed dog approaches us with my male, i WILL drop my leash and let him defend himself.

Well, I never had any with sedatives or poison on them. They were still fun though. Except when you have to retrieve them, that kind of sucks.I let that dog carry that one home though.

We don't even have an AC here and the cops are nearly nonexistant.

I really wish that Roxie would've defended herself... she was really winded from the hit though, I mean the poor kid rolled a few times in the street... It's a good thing I had her dog pack on her, it probably saved her from getting hurt even worse... surprisingly the pack isn't in bad shape at all, considering it's a $10 pack from amazon. But even if she had fought back, she doesn't do much damage... she's only a Whippet x afterall, they're no where near as strong as terriers. She's never left a mark on any of the dogs that have attacked her, even those with short fur.

Even when my grandparent's new Lhaso Apso mix attacked her, that dog didn't have a single scratch on it.

I would not mind retrieving a dart... it would give me a chance to beat the crap out of the dog. :P

This. I wish Bear would have been big enough, and would have at least known the other dog was booking it towards him. He had no idea though :/

I know for a damn fact though, if some dog is running up on him and I know Bear can handle it I will let him handle it. I am not going to restrain my dog so the other dog can attack him. And if Bear needs help, I will kick the living fuck out of the dog with him, because I know my dog is ALWAYS on leash so if the loose dog gets withing ass kicking range, it had better hope its owner gets there quick.

I know how you feel. I am pretty lucky here as there isn't many off leash dogs but about 2 weeks ago I was walking my two, leashed when I walked past this small field were 2 off leash dogs were; before I had the chance to leave, the female Staffy came running up and I pulled my two close and started kicking.. and then the male ran up; thankfully a lady pulled over and honked the horn which resulted in the male being brightened and the dog almost got hit by a car, after that they ran back to the field. The worst part, the owners stood there, watching the whole time... and there were 10 other people there to, not one person did anything. I wish we could carry pepper spray here. I'd be fine if it was Sunny as he likes dogs and I mostly come across friendly off leash dogs (when i have) but my defense is up when I have Serenity. Wish people would just keep there dogs leashed..

I'd be livid, that sucks. That's why I don't walk my dogs anymore, unfortunately. Too many loose dogs running up on us (never any incidents like yours, but I don't WANT that to happen).

I take them to a 100+ acre park where there's never anyone to exercise, either that or the local elementary school that's fully fenced. Not like they don't get exercise LOL, I just don't risk walking them around the neighborhood anymore.

I carry a knife. I'm not afraid to kill a bitch. I cut a dog on the nose pretty good once.

I would have killed that dog if I had the chance. Don't even ask me why I didn't have my knife on me, normally I do.

Kady... I really wish we had a place around here that's fenced in. I mean, I still run Roxie out in the park behind my house, but she's got two 50ft check lines on her and it slows her down a lot because they'll get around her legs and stuff. Hopefully when we move there'll be something, and nicer dogs...

all this talk of knives is making me cringe ! a light but strong walking stick should be sufficient.

O, I didn't think your dogs got no exercise, lol. I was just curious how you got them exercise. Your dogs seem quite happy!. If I lived where there were dogs coming up to us, I wouldn't walk my dogs ether.
