Well there are a lot of differences in your dog and a true APBT. I will use Lil Bit, because she is stunning.. http://www.realpitbull.com/sitebuild...-7-337x337.jpg and Bronson because he is friggin gorgeous.. http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s...d/DSC02062.jpg |
Well if you don't have a pedigree or don't know what the parents were, there is no way of knowing. http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/smile.png A purebred APBT usually has a pedigree behind them. Nothing wrong with having a mix! http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/smile.png

Your dog looks like a pet bull. The comparison with labs I was trying to make goes like this.
Field Lab: http://www.duckfeverretrievers.com/f...op_720x540.jpg Pet Lab: http://www.mallorns.com/AintMissBehaven-1.jpg Game-bred American Pit Bull Terrier: http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m.../GrChMacho.jpg "Pet Bull": http://bananaabby.com/dog-photos/201...ull-troost.jpg Your dog looks like a "Pet Bull". |
Looking at the pics and mind is churning. If I were to meet those dogs on the street I would say "Aww, look! Pit Bull mixes, they're so cuuute!"
Am Bullies are, at least for now, mutts. Some are adorable mutts, some are scary hippo-dogs. Not scary as in "AHH, its gonna eat me!" but scary as in "Omg, how could someone do that to a dog! Look, I think its having a heat stroke walking down the sidewalk!" I have noticed that a lot of people see pics like that and think Am Bully (if they are of the Am Bully is a legit breed mindset) or they think some kind of Pit Bull cross. However, I will throw a 3rd idea into the ring. Maybe some of the dogs built like that we see are actually ABPT. We all know BYB's abound and will breed pretty much anything. Its entirely possible that some of the "off looking" dogs we see are just very badly bred from APBT stock that should have been removed from the gene pool. I would assume, genetics being what it is, that even a good breeder will occasionally have a dog born that is not built properly and a good breeder would either cull it or spay/neuter it. The breeders who aren't so ethical or scrupulous would sell it and the buyer, being not that experienced or knowledgeable, then breeds it to another poor example and VOILA! then or a few generations later you end up with pure APBT that look like mutts. |
That's what I think "pet bulls" are. Just bad APBTs that shoulda been culled.

i dunno the point of this whole thread. this all boils down to the ped....
|
Petbull? i get it but i dunno IF they were bred into eachother wouldnt the hair look semi long? jane has plain and simple straight slicked completly back hair
Okay so heres my question Wat happens when you dilute the "mutt"(as yall say) genes of a bully with apbts genes Not just once but multiple times?... |

I think you need to re-read what your wrote, and then ask it again... |

I wouldn't say mutts are worthless, but I really wish people wouldn't say they were anything but mutts no matter how many times the "mutt blood is diluted".

the funny thing is that that lil white dog very well could be very game and make the red nosed one pictured above it want to jump the wall.... You guys can't tell from some picture such as that... Now, I went back and looked at OP pictures again... The top one is conditioned and ya can't tell anything from the angle and because it's a action shot..... The second picture is an overweight dog... But conditioned down that thing could win a few ribbons here and there and who knows with that fat off him he just might be very, very nice.... Further more, for all anyone really knows that dog "could" be the real deal who's been put out to retire ansd stud..... no one really knows.... |

Same dog in both pictures, he wasn't overweight in the bottom one either, you could feel his ribs and see his waist line, he was six months old in that one before going on daily walks and swims, and the top picture is after his "conditioning" started. Im still letting him be a puppy at the moment as he's only seven months old, and his only conditioning is really lots of play time, swimming, running behind my bike, or walking. He's started to slender out a lot more recently; his tummy is more tucked in, his legs are getting more toned, and his chest has already dropped down to his elbows.

There's more than enough mutts in the world. No need for anymore for a good long time. Cull and cull hard my friends. I don't give a shit how you do it as long as it's quick. |
