I've become a bit more argumentative over the past couple months since I've joined this site. I wouldn't call it argumentative in a bad way, but I feel a greater need to educate people. Ugh, lol. Look what you've done to me! Hahaha... Mostly people with their APBT vs. AmBully and the fact that DA isn't normal..
![]() How has PBC changed you? Or maybe it hasn't, maybe you've always been a know-it-all and now you just have people to know-it-all with you. ![]() |

I have learned a lot on what I have. Also how I should keep/feed it. An I do find myself getting mad about people calling their Ambully a APBT and vise versa. I also learned that every possible question I could ever come up with, has some answer and I can find it here.

Pitbull chat has been a much better outcome for me then some of the other boards especially one in particular. Enough was enough. I did learn loads through that particular board about the breed (by having to always put aside all of the bs & hate) before I became a regular on pbc. So to answer your question pbc has changed me, only for the better as I can be around most on here that shares my passion for these dogs and to continue to expand my knowledge for them. That doesn't require a constant defending mode or hardcore internet thug ready to leap at me.
The APBT Vs Ambully is always occurring on my youtube and reality side however ![]() |

Its made me realize how little most owners actually know about this breed, the majority subscribe to what the last guy said rather than think for themselves. On another note it has made my 10 year old son and 15 year old daughter roll their eyes alot more, every time they read posts they ask me if this is real or if people are truly this uneducated. I guess not everyone can be born into it the way we are. It has made my wife laugh alot more which is nice, considering shes preg again, lol.

honestly hasnt changed me much. ive always known most dont share the same views when it comes to these dogs,
and that not everyone had family to get them into bulldogs at a young age. to me its no biggie, it takes all types i guess, but i do have trouble when i share what i was taught and then get talked down to or doubted. then bad woody comes out LOL |

This place has taught me so much. From just everyday health of dogs to how to be more responsible with dogs. Then how to apply that to DA dogs (seeing as I have 2). Im also much quicker to argue to defend my dog. I got into it with my uncle on Facebook once when I commented on pit bulls being so misunderstood.. hes an insurance dude and started going off on his insurance 'facts' about pit bulls and how its all true. I normally would have been they type to roll my eyes and move on at the stupid comment he made but now Ill argure my point until people either listen or assume Ive been hypnotized by my dog to say false things to make him look good lol

I've learned to be more conscious of what other people think of me when I am with my dog or as far as him even stepping outside alone (I've had him since I was 16 and he's always been allowed to chill outside alone but that never happens anymore). I've learned about discrimination and how to deal with it more... I don't own a Pit bull/Bully of any kind but I do own a wolf dog and though I provide the best home I possible for him and he would never hurt a human (he hates little dogs. It's like he wants to find their squeaker and tear it out) people will still look down on him like he's about to eat their children/grandmothers. I've also learned that (even though I don't have the same breed) prey drive is acceptable and being DA is acceptable as long as it is closely watched. And I've accepted that those things aren't necessarily train outable and to manage it a lot better.
Even though my dog is different from your breeds there's still a lot to learn from what you go through with your dogs. And that's a big part of why I keep coming back. Not many people have the same dog breed as me so this is the next best thing. Plus I do have some experience with the breed and it's always nice to gain knowledge. |

It's made me a lot less sympathetic to people who are ignorant and choose to continue being ignorant... IE before, if someone said 'Oh, I hate pit bulls because the news says they're bad!' I'd just feel sorry for them and attempt to direct them to scientific evidence that shows these dogs are not the monsters the media makes them out to be... But now? If someone says they hate APBT's, I pretty much hate them. Then again, I was never a people person anyway LOL
I also have NO PATIENCE for people who live with the 'it's all how you raise 'em' mindset, or 'dog aggression is not natural in the breed!' no matter how much evidence and history and facts you give them. |

Not so much changes as reassured that I am not the only one out there that believes that just because there is an over abundance of pit bulls this breed should not be adopted by just anyone. That sometimes it is better to euthanize a dog than put it in a home where it will just be set up to fail. This breed does not need our pity it needs our protection. There are too many bleeding hearts out there that are causing pit bulls to be front and center in the media.

Well its definitely made me the family nerd. Everyone comes to me with their dog questions/problems. Those that I correct think I'm a know it all, espically those who think they know it all and the first things they mention are dog parks and locking jaws lol. I loved the apbt before i came here but its definitely made my love for the breed grow drastically. I honestly don't believe id be the good owner that I am now. I'm way more informed on whats healthy for my girl and whats not. That every dog cant be saved and some of them shouldn't. And I'm learning my bloodlines, its not easy cause there a plenty but i am learning. AND I have a bunch of new friends who are as much into this breed as i am and a lot of them that i really look up to.

I'm glad I found this forum, it helped me prepare to take on care of my son's dog BEFORE I got him and I am still learning new things every day. I know the dog is happy and he really enjoys his life now and we enjoy his company.
Thank you to all of you who share your knowledge. Your forum is well organized and the stickies are such a treasure! |
