BFKC papers (certificates) look damn near the same as ADBA as well. LOL
That's what I'm wondering...can you copyright a writing style, or sentence? That seems a little...stretched.

So can apartment complex A sue apartment complex B because both of their lease agreement forms are titled "Lease Agreement" and both of them have a sectoin called: "Tenent's Rights and Responsibilities"?

Default UKC Vs ABKC Lawsuit?
Someone posted this on the fan page.

Anyone know what is up between the UKC and ABKC?

http://www.rfcexpress.com/lawsuits/t...b-inc/summary/

Says something about a trademark infringement?

From my understanding in the Bully world, this started in 2008. I am not sure what it is all about.

May have something to do with the cross registration but IDK what validity is has with law? Or maybe its something to do with the dogs having to be registered through UKC first...hmmm

Beth....the lawsuit is over the trademark, The UKC is stating that the trademark is too close to theirs or something. I will see what I can find out and post it up if I find anything.

I have looked at them and don't know what the big deal is unless the ABKC changed theirs.

---------- Post added at 08:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:33 PM ----------

This is what I was told...

I just read the complaint. Basically the ABKC registration paperwork has certian wording PERFORMANCE PEDIGREE that is copyright and trademark owned by UKC so in a nut shell, UKC says that abkc copied registration paperwork issued by ukc and used it to form there registration paperwork they copied their wording and structure to design there bill of sale and how to register your dog sections on the registration paperwork along with the PERFORMANCE PEDIGREE so they are sueing them to make the ABKC change the wording and the design of there registration paperwork... NOTHING BIG! NO Drama..

UKC is requesting that ABKC change all of there documents, advertisements ect. and also submitted a financial statement so I believe what they are getting at is that they have lost a lot of business especially in the breeds that are connected to the ABKC so they are sueing for losses and attorney fees (potentially) it is set up for a Jury trial so will see what happens. I will follow it and see. Looks Like ABKC has gotten notice but has not yet filed a notice of appearance or a response to the summons so it will probly be months before anyone ever sees the inside of a court room.

ABKC pretty much copied the UKC pedigree's. They didn't have enough talent to design their own pedigrees.
