ADOPT MINNIE!





Meet little Minnie! Minnie (A12406974) is an itty, bitty black pit bull terrier mix who is about 3-5 years old and has had a very rough start in life. Minnie was brought to ACCT extremely emaciated by a police officer who confiscated her due to her horrific condition. Her owner chose to take Minnie back, but when he could not longer afford her care that animal care required he give her, he surrendered her (on a shoelace as a leash) over to animal control in late February where she came in at half the weight she is now and very depressed. With some good food, care, and love from all the volunteers at ACCT, Minnie has blossomed into a sweet, goofy, and extremely loving little lady. She has been a mom many times, but now finally has the chance at the life she deserves. Despite the rough life she's had, you would never know it by her happy and affectionate demeanor.

Minnie when she first came to ACCT..



Minnie has an adorable little mouse face and huge floppy ears that are incredibly expressive. She just adores attention from people and can't wait to give you a hug or curl up on your lap. She is super curious about the world around her and loves to investigate everything she sees and smells. She is a medium-low energy dog. Minnie walks very well on her easy-walk harness and really likes to stroll leisurely along. She is extremely treat motivated and knows "sit" like a champ, "stay," "down," and is working on "paw." Minnie has exhibited slight food guarding, which is not surprising since she probably has been starved her whole life. However, this is very manageable and will just need an adopter who will work with her. She may do best in a home without very young children. Minnie is also quite interested in cats, so her new home should not have feline residents. Minnie LOVES other dogs, and gets along very well with those she meets, especially male dogs. She even has a boyfriend at the shelter, named Vinny!

Minnie is spayed, and is up-to-date on her vacincations and shots. Minnie is currently a member of the Pen Pal program at ACCT where she gets one-on-one attention, socialization, and training from her Pen Pal Leslie, a volunteer at the shelter. Minnie is excellent with other dogs and does especially well with her male companions (Minnie with her ACCT boyfriend, Vinny)..



Minnie loves to do the rollie pollies...



Minnie really likes to ride in the car and makes a great co-pilot, but is also happy to just curl up on the seat..



But most of the time, her favorite place is to be right beside you...
