Default American Pit Bull Terrier: Killer Canine or Family Friend?
Anybody seen this documentary and is it legit? My bro is letting me borrow it on DVD tomorrow, and I was wondering what the opinions are on it. Is it all a bunch of media lies, or all a bunch of "it's all in how you raise them" crap? Or is it a real honest documentary? Is it real APBTs or AmStaffs and Bullies?

Anyways, just wanted to ask what peoples' opinions were, I guess just for discussion's sake.

I haven't seen it, I'll look into it.

Writing this as I watch the video..

They stated the culling myth. They also forgot "Terrier" in American Pit Bull Terrier.

LOLOLOLOL 3,000lbs per square inch?

This is the outcome of a test on the breed's bite pressure.
American Pit Bull Terrier: 235lbs

German Shepherd: 238lb

Rottweiler: 338lbs

I remember this one now....

"Dogs are really wolves in dogs clothing"

FALSE. They studied feral dog packs, nothing like wolves. The dominant dog was the one with control over resources. Dogs do not live their life in a quest to become "dominant" over you.

...When they were going through breeds and said "pitbull" they showed a picture of an American Bully.

And I'm not even done with part 1 our of 7 on Youtube.

They're showing American Bullies as pit bulls now....(Part 2 of 7)

For those who are interested.

---------- Post added at 12:25 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:11 AM ----------

American Pit Bull Terriers and American Staffordshire Terriers are not the same breed...They're bred towards different standards....Yes, back when the AKC first denied registering them as APBTs they were the same breed. But not anymore.

---------- Post added at 12:27 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:25 AM ----------

Sorry for all these different posts......Now they're trying to say American Bullies are American Pit Bull Terriers. Here's a quote from it, Bullys you're going for fault, you're going for size. It's just different standards. I LOVE that red red nose APBT owned by the lady who does Schutzhund and French Ring

They were correcting a dog that was HA That simply suppresses the aggression.
I think one "karma" trainer was calling positive reinforcement "karma training" That's a new one on me. lol His dogs were very nice though, all walking loose, obedient, comfortable, and happy.

They interviewed the owner of Iron Cross Kennels. Iron Cross Kennels were banned from the UKC.

That dog "Johnny" from Rough & Ready, CA had some gnarly slipping hocks.

Well that's my two cents.

I've seen Off the Chain a few times, but I don't remember it well. I'll watch it again to draw an opinion.

When I said that, I meant the title.

Celestial, I can't see because I don't have Netflix

And I've seen Off the Chain. It's all crap. Mutliple dogs, break sticks, spring poles, etc make you a dog fighter. Bait dogs, and so on. That's what it's about. It's worth a watch if you like laughing at all that BS, lol.

I didn't know it was on YouTube, I don't even need to borrow it if it's online. I'll just watch it there.

LOL . Instead of saying wolves in dogs clothing, for Am Bullies they should have said pigs in dogs clothing They look as if they chopped a Sumo Wrestler's leg off.

I pretty much hated the "documentary". It was full of so much BS. But one thing that was said that I really loved was this:

"And even with training, and even with socializing and all that good stuff, you're silly to ever think you can trust these dogs not to fight. That's the nature of the beast. And if you have a problem with it, you probably shouldn't have them."

At least it lets people watching know that if they get this breed, they WILL fight other dogs.

Haha yeah, that lady seemed to be the only one talking sense. A few other people seemed educated but then it showed them with their "pit bulls' (actually American Bullies.)

Man I remember the first time I saw Off the Chain... I actually believed it... and I thought there was no way a "dogfighter" could ever love his dogs. Back then, I only knew about dog matching what was in the media... lol. What a load of crap. Can they legally call this BS a "documentary"?
