Default Why are people so cruel?? I was saved but what about the rest??
I was hurt real bad. Then left out on the streets. The first shelter took me in but did not fix my neck - got a tattoo, but needed love and a lot of help. The next shelter saved me from destruction, Stitched my head back on and fixed me up - still needed more love-and a HOME. Mom and dad helped out @ the shelter, it was going to be a foster deal but once they had me in the car it was true love.

I am Granite and I am pure Love, you can see it in my eyes.

I change negative to positive every day.

A question often asked - but I am not sure I have the answer Until some of humankind changes its cruel ways, it will be one dog at a time ... where misfortune turns into a happy endng.

But I am glad that Granite found a loving home with you

Ugghhh.... that pictures brutal. My boy Tank had a harness that grew into his armpit literally to the bone because his first owner was too stupid to clue into the fact that he was out growing it. I swear looking at that picture of your boy, and I could SMELL Tanks rank, rotting flesh again, and that was a good eleven years ago. I had forgotten all about it, until I was clipping his nails the other day and caught a glimps of his scar. Sigh.... glad Granite's moving on and leaving that all in the past!

People suck but at least she found you! The story kind of reminds me of my dog. Zoe I know what you mean about the rotting flesh smell, when I got my dog her whole arm was infected and rotting from a nasty bone infection. It literally smelled like death and oozed for a good 4 months!

Some history on Grannie man...Granite was Picked up by Broward Animal Control as a stray dog - http://www.broward.org/Animal/Adopti...tableDogs.aspx - around Oct. 2010 with that horrible neck injury. People I have talked to stated that it was probably a embedded collar, and he may have finally escaped. Animal Aid - http://www.animal-aid.com/ - In Boca Raton became interested in him as Broward said that his injury was healing. Broward told Animal aid that they may correct his neck, but they did not. Then he was slated to be destroyed. Animal-Aid rescued him in early Nov. 2010 and gave him the neck surgery and other Medical Attention.
My wife was volunteering at Animal-Aid and Granite caught her eye. By now he was all bandaged up and other Shelter dogs had given him a bite or two. We had just spent an afternoon with Cyrus Mejia at one of his shows - http://cyrusmejia.com/ - and to top it off finished the book "The Lost Dogs"

We took him home Dec. 2010 - I guess it was meant to be.
