Default Just another 'is he part APBT?' thread (but I'd really appreciate the input)
I posted back in March, when I first got Nikko. At that time, he was only 3 months and it was kind of muddy what his mix might be, though it seemed probable that APBT played a large part in the mix. Nikko is now almost 5 1/2 months and I thought I'd post some pictures to see what you folks think. He is 17 1/2 inches tall and 29.6 lbs.

Thanks in advance for your input...

As long as you love him it doesn't matter much, does it?

If you click on the pictures I think they expand so you can get a better look. Thanks for the input. He is a terrific dog and wonderful to work with. The only reason I'm asking is to try and figure out his growth pattern and what to expect in terms of athletic ability. He is extremely agile for his age, which is nice. He has a lot of extra skin so I expect him to fill out quite a bit more. It might just be the brindle coat but he does seem to get a lot of people assuming he's a APBT cross which leads to A LOT of unwarranted and unwanted advice. Thanks for the input

Can't really tell from those pics... Could be anything.. His sable (seeming) and brindle color could be from shepherd descent. I actually see a little Rottie in his head profile, but you just can't be sure..

Why does it matter? If he did have some apbt mixed in would it make a difference?

He looks like genetic soup! I thought I saw some Rottie, as well, but maybe some Lab and Shep or even Mastiff (large size w extra skin made me think that). He's a cutie, but I don't see any bully in there.

If he is athletic and you are interested in working with him for agility or something I would say stop trying to guess and just enjoy his abilities. Guessing with a mutt will make you nuts and keep you up at night!
