Real Ham bones.

I bought my dog one of those shrink wrapped ham bones and he seems to love it but when i got online i saw mixed opinions about it. should i cut the joints off and then let him have it? should i take it away from him altogether? my little dude is pretty picky and its hard to find what he likes but i know i dont want to give him anything that will hurt him. i dont know what to do you guys, i just wanna mae my dog happy.

I agree, I'd cut off the joints and supervise him while he chewed it.

I give them to my shepherd mix some times. (I just get them from a catering buddy ) she eats the entire thing bone and all and she's never had an issue. But she also has an iron stomach and will eat almost any thing if I let her. I've heard if they're raw they are a lot safer because cooked bone is brittle and can splinter.

This is correct. Never feed any cooked bones to your dogs, it's dangerous.

With that said, anything you give your dog can be also be dangerous, so always supervise when they chew.
