I am thinking I should have had Blue's ears cropped. They are big, floppy and one stands straight up. He just turned a year old last month and I like them but I think he would look even better with them done.
Is he too old to crop? Is there anything to worry about at this age? Does anyone know anybody near the Nashville, TN area that does very good work? I was quoted 350 by a local vet but have not seen his work? What do yall think? ![]() ![]() |

I would never crop a dog that old. Adults generally don't handle surgery/pain as well as pups. I would also never use a vet that I couldn't see crops they had done.
If you're not showing him, I don't really see the point in cropping.. I'm one who wouldn't crop a pet dog, or a mutt, just don't see the point. |

Honestly, I say don't do it. Maybe if you are going to show him, but otherwise you're just putting him through pain for looks and it may not even come out good. You also would really need to go find a vet who will let you see the crop jobs he's done before, and not just one or two, I mean pages of crops for you to look at. Or else you'll probably end up with a dog who looks like someone used a rusty pair of scissors on him..
