So we got new neighbors yay. So directly across from us and below us . The kids are downright obnoxious but to be honest the parents are worse. These 2 families have already buddied up and for all i know they've been pals for years. This is an overalll quiet community and for as much as we pay its to be expected. There has never been any real noise problems that haven't been resolved promptly. So here is the issue these people are quickly turning my dog into a very nervous animal and I don't know how to fix this. Between the kids screaming and cussing each other locking each other out of the apartment all the time to mom chainsmoking in the breezeway 24 7 o cussing people out on her cell phone to the fighting and slamming of doors at all hours of the night its rediculous and my daughter gets upset over it and is not resting. And I've never seen Sasha so nervous and upset. One of the brats hit Sasha with a big old rock covered in snow she didn't retaliate at all other than growling under her breath which i don't blame her. But when the kid started walking toward my daughter Sasha got really really upset and started whining and shaking. I didn't let that kid anywhere near my child and he actually slipped and fell in cat poop so i felt a bit vindicated. SO o Sasha is in some kind of emotional hell right now and i don't know how to fix it. I'm embarassed and ashamed that Iet his bad. ITS NOT BAD BAD ITS JUST OBVIOUS SHE IS NERVOUS. She paces and Whines alot but you get her away from apartment and she calms right down to her HAPPY self. WHAT can I do to help calm her?
---------- Post added at 01:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:24 PM ---------- she never was nervous like this until they moved in 3 weeks ago. ---------- Post added at 01:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:26 PM ---------- thankfully the daytime is peaceful. I want to add we havent actually met the neighbors we kind of keep to ourselves thankfully our new place is just a few months away. i'll admit i hate having neighbors and would be perfectly content living way out on some mountain not really a people person. |

I don't know what you can do to calm your dog, except to affect some of the stimulus.
I tend to be direct with people who are affecting my quality of life, if I believe my expectations are reasonable. If not I try to suck it up. Can you tell the neighbors not to tease your dog? How about a noise complaint to mgmt? |

If you have tried to talk to the people about the problems and they aren't listening, then it's time to move to the next step.
I would have called teh cops and filed a complaint when the brat threw a rock. What the hell is wrong with people? My parents would not have tolerated that crap when I was a child. I would file noise complaints with the building management and the police. Find out what the noise ordinances are in your town. Document everything. |

there is no doubt in my mind that the noise issues will be resolved very very soon. Our management is very strict when it comes to the rules and they have an image and reputation to uphold. People have been evicted for less. My concern is what can I do for my dog to help calm her and not have lasting issues from all this until it is resolved?
