Beautiful dog, no matter his pedigree!! :3

jeaccatty 01-12-2010 06:56 PM

to Sandi - he is a barker, but i don't know what hearding charicteristics are so i can not tell you if he shows them or not

to Gatorpit - his hair is really short and soft like an apbt except along the ridge of his back it is about half an inch longer and coarse like a rotti.

once again thank you all for your input. i will attach a picture of him, not in the sit position.

Hey its only natural if you don't have papers to want to know what your
dog is! I know I would. I see rotti in there somewhere in the face and could be a bully breed mixed in there too. He is very handsome. http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/smile.png

I love this game! http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/biggrin.png

Hmm...
I would def say Rotty mix, the first pic reminds me of my very first dog Simon, I had hom for a very short sweet time before he was placed in a more suited country home. He was a purebred Rottweil Metzgerhund. http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/lol.gif

The rest of photos are shouting either Amstaff or APBT to me, though it's hard to tell when they're so watered down, not to mention I am far from what you'd call expert. http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/wink.png

He looks VERY much like a Rottie/"pit bull" mix. Rotties CAN have white spots, but this is a fault in conformation if it is larger than a quarter (I believe), so most breeders cull or spay/neuter contract pups that carry the white gene. The brindle would likely come from a "pit bull" background, as would the size. Most working Rotties I have come across are still fairly large, with the largest I have encountered being a GIANT 135lb German-bred MONSTER! Now THAT dog hit HARD!

He looks like a pitbull rottie mix but remember, theres also tri-colored pits out there that are supposedly purebred. So I not sure but I think what you have there is a mix. Good looking dog though.

The first 2 pics - Id say rottie mix, the 3rd I am unsure of.. he might be rottie/pittie mix.. hes adorable!!

Those ears appear to be APBT but I would say he has more Rottweiler in him than anything. Just his build and coloring. My friend had a Rottie/Lab mix that looked very similar but those ears are APBT. Who knows. All that matters is that he is in a good home and that you love him. Beautiful dog.

First breed of dog I ever owned. Excellent. Good looking dog Menzie3.

shumozar 02-12-2010 08:23 PM

The first pic to me says Staff or Pit bull mix, the second pic says Rott mix and the third,..back to Staff or Pit bull mix. I say that because in the first and last pics its head looks more round like a Staff. But the second pics head peace says Rott mix.

I couldn't care less about the color, if you want to go by color. Then you might as well throw in every other breed that comes in black and tan or even tri.

jeaccatty 02-13-2010 02:15 AM

once again thank you to everyone for your time to read and your input. i don't care what breed he actually is because i love him regardless and he is now in a loiving home where he belongs. can i still stay on the forum even though his breed is unknown? also from what i have read about apbt behaviors he acts just like one!

Of course - I don't even own a bully breed..

He looks like a 'pit bull' mix to me. Maybe Rottweiler, who knows. But APBTs do come in Black and Tan.

Me neither. I own a fuzzy little punk rat-goat. (Dog in Avatar) http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/wink.png

Yeah, as far as I can remember there are a TON of well-liked members who don't own any kind of bull & terrier type dogs, many that never have.

Anyone wanting to learn and share is welcome! http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/smile.png

jeaccatty 12-01-2010 12:12 AM

would you consider...

i know it is not possible for you to tell me what kind of dog i adopted but i just wanted to get a feeling from bully breed owners if they would consider him a "pit-bull" style dog. i have a few pictures in my album and i will attach a few to this post. sorry if anybody is annoyed by the question. i know there are lots of posts on this site asking to guess the breed but i'd like to hear a few others thoughts or suggestions. he weighs just over 60lbs and is roughly 4yr old. these pictures were taken about 16 months ago.

GreefeWrereon 12-01-2010 12:18 AM

I know this - he is GORGEOUS!!! http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/biggrin.png
