Default Vaccinations
Do you vaccinate your cats?

I went round a few shops this afternoon because I was buying a new rabbit (will post pics soon!) and one had a vet next to it and they were offering lifetime vaccinations for cats for £99. I always thought it was more expensive, now I'm wondering if I should.

Wow that's cheap! I'd check out exactly what you get for that price but sounds good. All mine are vaccinated but it's not cheap.

I would double check about the lifetime thing, I sometimes wonder if it's a bit of a scam - what happens if the practice disappears? Sad but 2 local vets to me have shut down in the last few years and there seem to be more "chains" about, especially in places like the big pets at home stores, and less small/privately owned vet practices. If it literally is vaccinations every year for the lifetime of your cat and you're confident the vet practice is going to be open, it seems like a very good deal to me! I think I pay around £30-40 for boosters so after 3 years you'll have saved money.

Wow, that's really cheap. Like Christy said, I would highly recommend checking out the history and reputation of the place first. If they're doing sales like this just to stay afloat in business, they could easily shut down in the next couple years and you'd be out your money and vaccines. You can't guarantee they'll be around for another 50 years, but even just feeling confident they'll still be around for the next 3 year's will make it worthwhile.

I echo what the others have said, but I do know people who've paid for this type of scheme for their dogs or cats and have had no problems with it.

Don't suppose you live in Cardiff and want to share the name of the vets? I'd love to get my cats signed up to something like that, it would save me a fortune!!

I found this article on it, I think it might be one of these practices

http://www.vets4pets.com/healthy-pet...fers/vac4life/

It looks like a good deal to be honest, as you can transfer between practices so I suppose if one closes down - or you move - you can use it at any other Vets4Life practice.

It's worth noting it's an EXTRA £99 on top of the cost of the first set of vaccinations though, so it covers boosters - but not the first set, so it probably works out around £150, and if you miss a date, you have to pay to start again.

"When you vaccinate your cat or dog at Vets4Pets, for an extra £99* you can join our exclusive Vac4Life programme. Vac4Life is a lifetime vaccination plan which, for a one-off payment of £99*, will give your pet free annual boosters and annual health checks for the rest of his or her life! "

Valid for cats and dogs though!

Seems like a good deal, you know that even if you're hard up financially in future years that this expense is covered.
