No not every dog is a mutt. After years and years of selective breeding for certain traits a dog becomes pure. The APBT is a pure breed because it was selectively bred over a couple centuries for specific traits.

Breeds are breeds they don't very from country to country. So to say your breed is different then ours is BS. You don't have a breed you have mutts. It's ok to have mutts but those mutts clearly are passing on deformities and shouldn't be bred.

Why is it when someone hears stuff they don't want to hear they throw a hissy fit? You come on hear asking questions/opinions you are going to hear stuff you don't want to hear. If you want everything to be lollipops and rainbows then don't join a forum and ask for others' thoughts/opinions.

Yes, I have a mutt and I will proudly tell you that. However, he is neutered and not producing other mutts. Yes, crosses are mutts. Just because there are dogs out there with tails like your dogs does not mean they should be bred. Many OEB's shouldn't be bred period because they are genetic messes just like EB's. Please do these dogs and bulldog breeds a favor and have them fixed. I really hope that you stick around and actually learn a few things.

You might want to watch the cussing because it will get you banned.

Wow, that's all I have to say.
dont say nuttin then

and bro, on my island we dont have the opportunities u have to get wat ever dog u want, we have to get wat we can and i can assure u the vet hasnt told us anythings wrong with the dogs or the tails being like that..if i had the chance i would have a pedigree right away, but i cant, the bulldogs my dog are off of we smuggled here, there long time dead and gone... and trust me the dogs that we have are some of the best on the island when it comes to pitbull and bull breed even though genuinely there mutts its wat we have, alot of people have crossed pitbulls wit shar-pei and rottweiler(which are banned also), i hate those more because although like u said there mutts the bulldog in them still makes sort of better...so even to breed a dog here you have to a thorough background check being the island is so small its not hard to keep track of everything.

Default Have you ever seen a dog with these traits?
I live on a very small island, a friend of mine had a litter of pups, american bulldog is mixed with the lines of both parents, I was wondering has anyone ever seen ears like this, at one week one ear stood up one was down until the pup got about 4 weeks and both of the ears are curled backwards naturally, I dont think its a deformity because we've had a pup come like that already but it died at a few months old from being hit by a car...

We also get these tails but we understand the genetics in this...

just curious to see what others have to say..

It looks to me like there may be more wrong with that pup than it's ears....the whole thing looks very....off.

looks like an alpha blue blood bull dog mix to me, a mutt.

Hopefully your a more responsible owner now as to not let your dog get hit by a car.

Dogs with ears that naturally curl backwards is anything but natural, its a deformity, the people breeding these dogs are total morons.

All those dogs look really odd.

Small island? Got some pretty good inbreeding going on?

Where do you get your dogs?

Those don't even look like American Bulldogs.

just to clarify none of these dogs are mine, just friends of mine and i didnt say they were exactly off an american bulldog, there parents were a cross of american bulldog and pitbull...oh and none of these dogs are inbreeds there both have the same father but different mothers the father is american bulldog and pitbull crossed he's off the full bred bull but he was also the runt of the litter so he's short..the pup is only 6 weeks, we took him from the original owner because he wasn't being properly taken care of, animals have little protection where im from there are more laws against them than for them.

I had a boston that had ears that turned back. They straightened out as he got older and were perfectly normal.

I've never seen a dog with ears that curl back like that, but hopefully, they will straighten out as the pup grows and the cartilage matures. However, it would be best if you could convince your friend to not breed either the parents of this pup, or the parents of the other pup that you had with the same kind of ears. I think these dogs shouldn't be bred again. Hopefully, they will listen to you.

That pup looks to have issues. Doesn't look healthy at all. I would say that hopefully they will straighten out as the pup matures. But these dogs look sickly, the pups parents don't need to be bred together again.

Are they mixed with some kind of demon? Those ears look like little devil horns.

you said your these are your friend dogs and they breed them and then in the next sentence it says " WE also get these tails but we understand the genetics in this..."
so is it really your friend doing the breeding and not the btoh of you?

honestly i believe those ears are a deformed i agree the dogs seem a off....

"yanja"...when i say we, i have a dog off the father of both dogs but she has a different mother from them both, the ears come from the mother's side, her sister came with the ears also, she was full white with a few black patches on her nose and deaf...but the mother of the pup and my dog's mother both have the same great great grandmother but are from 2 different males...so i dont think its a defect, it has to some kind of genetics right?

the father of the pup and of my dog is from a full american bulldog and pitbull cross and because just a few years ago the law was so hard on dog breeds that the rest of the litter were put down but a friend of mine was able to save 2 of them a male and a female (neutered)...but the male has like a short broken like tail thats down not up like the female above, she's the first to come with it on her back like that, our vet told us that too, its a deformity i guess u can say but it makes every dog more unique..

This is my female, she has a regular tail..
