Default Thanksgiving Doggy Disaster
I KNOW you all have one of these stories... if you're bringing your dog to Thanksgiving dinner, then there is bound to be a disaster.

I brought Moto up to my dad's house in the mountains for Thanksgiving dinner. When we got there, there was about 2ft of snow on the ground and Moto had no idea that he could pee in it so he refused to go potty. We go inside and I keep taking him for potty breaks, but he wouldn't go in the zero degree weather.

You can guess what happened...he had a huge accident in the house from holding it so long. And what's the worst is that he walks as he pees- he doesn't stand still- so he made a lovely trail through the dining room.

That was our first accident in well over 3 months! SIGH! Oh well, he learned how to potty in the snow after he was exiled to the great outdoors right after he peed in the house (he was re-welcomed into the house after 2 minutes outside).

Thank goodness most of the guests weren't there yet and my dad was understanding. I was still mortified.

What are your stories?

I would probably have to do that with Harley if we had snow here... I have to pratically drag him out when the groud is even slightly damp because he doesnt want to go out lol

So far I dont have any disasters as we dont have our own place to have Thanksgiving and my parents dont allow dogs in their house so Harley has to stay home (he would freeze if we brought him and left him out back lol)

Usually, the first decent snow here happens at some ungodly late or early hour. I keep a shovel by the back door when I know snow will be coming soon just in case it hits when I'm not lookin. At about 11pm or 6am you will see the snow falling and accumulating and me outside, shivering, shoveling snow while 1 or more dogs watches me out the back door while doing the pee pee dance. Its pretty pitiful.

Nothing this year. Although a couple years ago Bully was only 12 weeks old and my grandmother "released the devil" because she needed the lead to tie up another dog. No one told me and I found him laying under a bush several hours later! She also has told me several times over the last couple years that I should let my dogs sleep with me because "they will eat me when they get hungry" That was the last time that my dogs have gone to someone's house other than my other grandma's (who tried to keep him!) and my parents (who also tried to keep him).

Odin snatched a cookie from a little boy. Then the boy figured he could use another one and fed him a second one. Not too bad in the grand scheme of things.

When Osiris was about three months old I took him to a family friend's house for a super bowl party, I let him out of my sight for a minute and found a nice big dump! Thanfully it was solid and an easy clean up. Plus, despite his (or should I say my) mistake, they loved him and he changed their thinking of the breed. He still made me proud!
