Default pit bull or boxer?
Hey guys. I adopted my babe Leni in July (Fostered for 2 months) and the rescue said "boxer/lab mix". She looks more like she has some type of bully in her considering she's more stocky rather than tall like a boxer. Maybe some hound too? what do you guys think? I know I know..she's a mutt and ill never know for sure, just curious to see other opinions.

Oh and she's the one sitting near the black dog in one pic and the one with the floppy ears in the other pic of the 2 brindles.

I can see her now.
It is hard to tell if it would be apbt or boxer, she could kinda go either way.

She's cute, whatever she is!

Well, from the docked tail, the brindle, and that one side shot that shows her deep chest, there's could be some boxer in there.

The docked tail just means it's got a docked tail, not that it has any boxer in it. A lot of folks (especially country folk) dock the tails of all pups, regardless of breed. And sense tail docking is manual remaoval of the tail, it's not a genetic trait.

I don't see any of the facial structure features common to boxer mixes, but who knows for sure?

Yeah I dont really see any boxer but im not a huge fan so who knows. I dont think any breed is born with a docked tail correct? Oh someone else at the dog park said she could have rottie

I know that, I had boxers for my whole childhood, and I have an undocked Rottie. But the docked tail combined with the body shape kind of brings the boxer theory together for me.

To be honest, she looks more like a regular "mutt" (not in a bad way!) than showing any characteristics towards one specific breed.

For me, it's a stretch to even say "pit bull" because she looks too generic. i.e. many other breeds could be responsible for such characteristics.

However, she sure is cute! I've got a soft spot for brindle dogs.

Not sure about the boxer part, because I had a foster a few years ago. We had found her. Our vet said boxer or boxer mix. But the vet to the lady that adopted her said either pit mix or full gatorpit(never heard of that breed but whatever) So I'm not sure, but I'd say definately no to the rottie. and there's definately some lab there. her head looks like a field lab to me. As for the stockiness that can also be because of the lab. I've learn a lot about them since I got Dakota. The English/bench labs are very stocky. It's the American/field labs that most people here are used to the are tall & lanky. IMO Either way she's gorgious. My favorite dog colors are brindles & black & tans.

Nope(well some might be) I know a guy on the lab forum that has a bench lab. I swear you look @ uplander and the first thought is that he's mixed w/ either masstiff or saint bernard. But he's 100% pure lab!!
