Having kids changed my life. The dogs just set the schedule a bit earlier. I used to get up at 7:30 to wake the kids for school. Now I get up anywhere from 5:30 to 6:30 because someone needs to be let out NOW.
I used to think someday we would take a cool vacation to a foreign country if I could get my Aunt to watch the kids for a few days. Now I know I will be right here because I don't trust anyone to watch the dogs for that long, lol. I used to dream of an urban dwelling painstakingly restored to its 19th century charm. Now I dream of a rural home painstakingly restored to its 19th century charm with an outbuilding wired for electric and heat so that I can have my own kennels and do rescue, boarding, training and have more than my 3 personal dogs. Yeah, dogs change your life and even your dreams. |

I must have lazy ass dogs... My adult dog is now a complete lazy ass. She can't keep up with me. When I leave for work in the morning I transfer her from our bed, to my mother's in-law apartment and my mother's bed. The dog isn't the one that's up. I am. ![]() Veronica rolls out of bed around 9 am or whenever her breakfast hits the floor, or so I am told. |

Yea well my 1 1/2 yr old dog refuses to get out of bed before 9...or 10. I make him go out to pee before I go to class at 7 and he pretends he doesn't hear me trying to get him up. Then he gets up, stretches a few times, walks down the stairs at a snails pace with his eyes half closed to potty, and struggles back up the stairs to FALL onto his bed and be tucked in. Then by the time I get home at 12 he is bouncing off the frickin' walls like he hasn't been walked all year. He has 2 modes: On speed and Comatosed
