Default I'm a HORRIBLE dog owner!!! -Vent-
According to my mother, Beau is neglected.

Let's see my dog is UTD on his shots, has fresh clean water every day, is fed two cups of food a day (once in the morning, once at night. I feed Purnia One Sensitive Systems) I add in raw egg twice a week. Oh he's walked about 10 miles every week. Gets a bath once a month if he needs it, his ears a clean, his nails are SUPER short. He's not fat, he's a healthy 24 pounds **This is his usual winter weight, he weighs 17 in the spring and summer**. Why am I a bad dog owner, you ask? Because he lives outside on a 75 foot zip-line with a custom built doghouse that is properly insulated. Yeah I'm such a bad dog owner!!!

Now compare Beau to her dog!!

He hasn't seen a vet in about 2 years (besides his rabies shot), he's fat, is never walked. Is free fed food and is never really even played with. I buy his food. I do his grooming. His nails are like SUPER long and he's smelly.

And I'm the bad dog owner!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm just venting as you can tell, I get enough crap from A LOT of people because I chain my dog and he lives outside. But it's not like Beau isn't taken care of, it's starting to grate on my nerves A LOT!!!

Poor dog. Guess he has to come visit me for some loving.
No worries. Your mom is an idiot (no offense), but I think you already know that.

She knows nothing about an unhealthy beagle. I've seen beagles that are so fat they look like kegs with legs.

It takes a lot to keep a beagle healthy. Feel proud yours is well taken care of and in good shape!

tell her to come babysit my pup for a day, and tell me these dogs are abused being outside.. i get clawed daily shoving her in her crate, she tears down the doors, barks, etc. same with my GSD.

You take good care of him and as long as you are also providing him with human companionship I don't think its wrong to let him live outside. Besides, as CoolHand saidm he is a hunting dog! I am sure he would much rather be outdoors where he can watch the birds and squirrels and smell all the scents than be bored in the house.

Beau is a gorgeous dog. I've always particularly admired a good beagle.

Actually, I guess I'm sort of a closet sporting dog fan. I like hounds, setters, sporting spaniels, and pointers quite a lot. Not at all big on retrievers, though.

Too bad more owners can't be as "bad" as you are!! You could teach my neighbor a thing or two... she's such a "good" owner, it makes me sick!
