Default Gidget: Possible SAR candidate :)
Gidget has a medium working drive. She's not bounce off the wall nuts, but she's your typical tenacious terrier. She's always had a great nose and solid nerves. She has no issues with various floor surfaces nor romping around in the woods. I had worked SAR dogs several years ago, and next weekend, we will be taking her to a SAR team for an aptitude test.

She has, as of late, decided to rid our backyard of moles *sigh* When we came home the other weekend after our friend watched our dogs at our house, there were deliberate tracks dug around the backyard (kind of wish our friend would have paid closer attention when they were outside.) At the end of one of the tracks was a hole with *ahem* part of a mole (deceased.) In our house, she has decided to track something through the floorboards (mouse, maybe?) and will snort and sniff her way in a deliberate trail.

Because of her want and willingness to work and please and her stellar nose, I think she'd make a great SAR dog. She'd be one of the few SAR pit bulls in the U.S.

Kris Crawford is primarily well-known as being a SAR handler who works her pit bulls: http://www.forpitssake.org/sar.html
