I was at petsmart today getting a few treats for Pinkies training. When I came across a young "pit/bully mix" sniffing my leg. He is an energetic young guy, but incredibly sweet. I talk to his owner and come to find out he just claimed them and their home about 4 months ago. Now they live out in the sticks so they figure he was dumped, and found them.
The wife says before meeting Gussers she was very anti pitbull, and admits she never actually interacted with one before. Just fell prey to media and myths. Her husband says he told her they just need to be trained and that they are very misunderstood. He also felt that this dog did not deserve abandonment or worse so they kept him. They have had him for 4 months now and couldn't give him up if they had to now. I only wish more people were open minded and caring as this family. I felt they deserved kudos. |
