Default Oh how nice it is to be greeted by a happy dog
Well I've been working the last few days and I'll admit I'd forgotten what it was like to be greeted by your dog when you come home. I'm always with her so go figure. Well the days are long and hard but the last 3 days I walked in the door to find Sasha excited to see me, tail wagging, big Sasha grin. Ready to shower me with slobbery kisses and love. I took her outside to go to the bathroom but she wanted to be loved on before she went potty. It was nice getting such a warm welcome home from such a wonderful dog. She made all the hard work worth it. That one moment I find myself looking forward too now. Coming home to my dog! (And my daughter but she isn't as happy to see me. She is having too much fun with the grandparents. Mommy spoils the fun )

That's what Lily does every time I come home. I walk out on the porch with them (I have to walk out with them or else she won't go out) and I tell her "go potty" but she just sits there wiggling looking at me. Eventually I'm able to convince her that she has to pee, but it takes a while sometimes lol. I love her to death though.
Dogs really are the best. It doesn't matter how much crap you had to put up with at work, or how many clients yelled at you, or anything else that happened, as soon as you walk in the door it's like the world doesn't exist for a minute; it's just you and your dog. It's the best feeling, the best anti-depressant, the most cathartic moment of my day.
Wouldn't trade it for the world.

LOL, get used to that, it's not going to change for a long time Unless you have food or money or candy on you.

Lucy's happy dance prance around the house is what gets me through work everyday. If it wasn't for her, well, I'd follow through on my threat to my manager that if she kept being a bitch I'd break her nose.

And her silly "RU RU RU RUUUUUUUUUU ARRUUUUUU" noises she makes. She just can't contain herself.

There is little that makes me happier than Socrates happy dance when I get home. It is the absolute best. Sometimes I feel bad because I forget to say hi to my BF, but he understands lol.

Aww. I agree there's nothing better than being greeted by your dogs after a long hard day.

You know the last time I was truely greeted by a dog when I came home is when I was in High School. We had 2 dogs. My dog, who was my dog and most loyal companion and my parents dog that didn't give a crap if I had been gone or not. Everyday I'd get off the school bus and walk past the window and she would be looking out it with her tail wagging then she was rush to meet me at the back door and was right there waiting when I came in.

I think that is the first time I have had that since. My dog I had as a teen died 2 days before Graduation, actually the last day of senior year. (I got her going into my freshman year she was 10 when we got her) And after she died and I was working and going to college the other dog never greeted me. I had my last big job before I got Trouble and sadly with all his problems I couldn't keep a job. I worked mostly on call a few times a month. Whenever he'd get sick he'd need round the clock care and after the first time the vet felt it was best we not leave him there if possible. He would work himself into a panic and have to be sedated after I would leave him. So I would basically take him home and bring him back for his treatments but I wasn't able to leave him for days at a time. It sucked.

So back to the point, this is the first time in 5 years I've had this happen and its nice. I didn't realize Sasha cared so much.

When I come home, Odin knows he has to sit to get attention. That doesn't stop him from wagging his tail, jiggling his butt and stretching his neck as far as he can to get some lovin'. As soon as I sit down on the ground, he runs over and does a headstand in my lap, flops over and gets some belly rubs. It's usually the highlight of my day
