Default Another bad situation, but could have been worse!!
So get this!
I was walking Cleo down my road, when an unleashed shepard mix (dont know who owns it) came out of the bushes barking.
I figured it was all bark and just curious, and as soon as we passed it everything would be ok.
Cleo was in an alert stance, just standing and looking at the dog not making any noise, just staring.
We got a little down the road, and the dog was following us.
Everytime I would stop and turn around, the dog would just stop and look at us.
Didn't really seem too aggressive, so as long as I had a good grip on Cleo, I thought everything would be fine.
We kept walking and the damn thing suddenly appears beside us.
Well, we keep going for a little while, when the thing stops about a yard in front of us and starts barking!
And here I am trying to stay calm and collected when I'm thinking my goodness, I am going to have ANOTHER fight on my hands.
With my brand new break stick in hand, I was ready for about anything lol!
Then, the damn thing lunges at Cleo.
All I'm going to say, is that little scuffle didn't make it too far, it was minor and was over in a few seconds.
I called my bf, and asked him to look up the number to animal control, but he couldnt find it.
Men, huh?!
Anyways, I got him to get the truck and come pick me and Cleo up, and went back home to call animal control myself.
Hope they found that dog...
Because the next time it's seen around here, it's a dead ass.

Be careful with other breeds and breaksticks. They work great with bulldogs. Certain breeds like shepards when they bite they snap and release and continue to do so. And you can get bit.

Seems like everybody is picking on the pretty girl lately, huh?! Glad everybody is okay. That's why I refuse to walk my dogs by myself. Luckily, my oldest daughter always walks with us, she walks Harlee. Now my middle daughter has moved back in and she walks with us too. She gets to carry the baseball bat! We all carry break sticks and know how to use them!
Sorry they're picking on Miss Cleo, they're just jealous!

I am glad it was not serious, this is why I have ACO's number programed into my phone, I have called them about 5 times in one day before because of loose dogs. I would have not passed the stupid dog probably, if I did and it started following me, I would have started making all kinds of noise "GO HOME!!!!" stuff like that, waving my arms and such to try to get it to turn (I have had to do this a few times) I am glad Cleo was being good for you so you could try to get past and all that without her lunging and stuff toward other dogs. I know how it is walking by yourself, I can never get my fiance to walk with me, he says I walk to far...sorry the dogs need it lol. I say Good job, but just might have to look up dog body lang a bit more (I was not there so I am not sure if you can read them good or not, so if ya can no sweat, good job )

Lol Rainy, that would have been horrrrible!

Thanks Luvabull and Elliehanna!
I'm glad nobody was hurt..
It could've been terrible, if I didn't have my "brandnew" (lol RAINY!!) breakstick.
Wow, I don't even wanna think about it.

I'm glad Cleo is okay.

I hate when people just let there dogs run loose. Kahula is extremely protective over me, and when the neighbors dog comes charging at us she isn't scared to stand in front of me and attack. The other day the neighbors dog came charging at us. I'm trying to keep Kahula calm, but once the dog came close to us she was like a firecracker trying to get after him.

No one got hurt to even go a hold of each other thank god. I wanna start holding a stick with me walking by him. If he goes after my dog again, I'd give him a good hit on the nose. lol, he'd stop then.

I agree with whoever said that unleashed dogs are a pet peeve....unleashed dogs make me so mad; not at the dog but at the stupid owner. I have had a few instances of loose dogs while out with Lugz; luckily only once did Lugz get tangled up with the other dog and wouldn't you know it was another pit bull and it put some pretty good holes in Lugz's face...the person lived a few houses down the street from me...my roommate had a nice chat with the guy who had his dog out loose.

Well Pinky, you must admit that you still haven't tested that "brandnew" breakstick you got there, and it's better to test it when Cleo is that one you have to break, not that other way around

Pink princess I am sorry to say this entire incident was your fault. You are trying to control your dog and You really need to Liberate your dogs mind remove the leash and set her free and all these issues will go away if all else fails roll a basketball

Seems like when you live in the country some people think it is ok to let your dog roam. I see at least 4 dogs on a regulr basis on my way to work. 2 chase cars so I have to avoid them so I do not hit them.

Crap like this INFURIATES me! Try trying to deal with a loose dog coming at you while you have two kids with you. People are so self absorbed, they don't even stop to think about how their actions, or lack there of, might affect other people. Pisses me off to no end.

A little advise to those that carry a baseball or tball bat for protection.Bring a tennis ball with you.Yes it will make your pocket bulge out.so no it`s not a fashion statement. As long as you have a ball with you can say it was to play with your dog.having a bat on your person or in a vehicle with out the ball .can be considered a weapon.

I am glad you and Cleo were not hurt. If a German Shepard Dog came after my dog I would step out of the way and hope my dog made it out for the better.

Yeah Cynthia, it's horrible around here.
The WORST time is hunting season, when they run the dogs behind our house.
Where my land ends, the hunting club land starts, and people and their dogs are down there every day until hunting season is over, and sometimes after its over.
And we have a tree stand out there right on the edge of our property, where we have found beer cans and shit where the hunters have been on OUR land!
Anyways...Their dogs show up at the house all the time.
I can't tell you how many times we've had to call the owners to pick them up.
Sometimes it takes DAYS, and I have to keep them chained and feed them.
It's ridiculous!

And thanks for being concerned everyone.
Glad everything was ok.

there are plenty of off leash dogs in the city too,in fact it seems that responsible dog owners are a deffinate minority around here.Bella was attacked by a french bulldog a few weeks ago,the little thing ran right by me and grabbed her snout.Bella growled a little, but reeally the situation could have been a disaster for the frenchie(and i bet they spent a fortune on it too) then i give the guy his dog and he says "oh haha sorry about that, its the pit bull in her" as an excuse to why his da little dog was running loose attacking other dogs. dummy!! i kinda thought that frenchies were slow moving, but that one was a fast little bugger
