Socrates was attacked
 

I just got a call at work from my BF. He said that Socrates had been attacked...by a BIRD http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/lol.gif! They were walking down by the water and apparently got too close to their nest because two birds started flapping their wings and chirping frantically at them. My BF went on his way but Socrates was very intrigued by the birds' behavior. As they walked along, the birds followed them, stopping on street signs and branches along the way chirping at them. Then, one swooped down and pecked Socrates right in the ass! He jumped and turned around like "What the hell was that!?" and then just trotted away! My BF said that he really wanted to let him go to let him take care of the bird (because he clearly wanted to) but obviously he wouldn't let him off leash, plus the bird was just protecting his nest lol. When I answered the phone I almost had a heart attack at the word "attacked".

My first reaction was "Oh, no". But then I had to laugh a little. Poor Socrates, those birds are mean.

I know it. The birds around here are going nuts lately! One swooped down and pecked my mom in the face last week!!

Over Spring, I had a ton of baby birds that kept falling out of their nests into my yard. Lucky for them, I'm a total softy and herded them to a corner where I could protect them (although the dogs really didn't seem to notice or care about them). Their moms would come back and feed them, and within a week, they were able to fly. But man, those mama birds are MEAN! One of them kept swooping down at me & the dogs constantly.. she was so angry!
